Brain freeze- Snaphappy playing & learning

There are places much more north of me Don (alaska, yukon, NWT) that keep animals and have wildlife that thrives up there. When it gets really cold for extended times I baby my critters and can't stand to see them in distress so I always have a plan and are prepared in case. I find animals suffer far more in the heat and the bugs eat them alive if they're aren't smothered and bug spray etc. The deep cold can be harsh if it sticks around a long time but for the most part winter is easier on them than the summer.

Shocking- had to be incredibly careful with this shot because that is my frost covered hot wire fence :)

Yes it's a cat paw. Completely deaf cat makes it difficult to get his attention if you want to take a photo but he sleeps like the dead so getting within an inch of his paw wasn't too hard :) It was the getting within an inch of the hotwire fence that was nerve wrecking

Warmed up to -16 today so it snowed and snowed. It was 50mm 1.8D day and really wish I'd made it a 35mm day

Nikonpup hubby likes his Guiness (I may not be Canadian because I dislike any type of beer yuck!). My wine caraf was filled with Killer Koolaid which I hadn't had in many many years but it was on special. It has absolutely nothing to do with Koolaid and I haven't had one since I've had kids (may have been the reason I have kids LOL) The recipe below is for a normal sized glass
1/2 oz vodka
1 oz melon liqueur
1 oz amaretto almond liqueur
cranberry juice
Sprite® soda

wthorson the ice balls are completely covered in snow at the moment but its been hovering at freezing during the day so they may appear again soon :)

Tonight the moon was actually clear of clouds and haze for about 5mins and I actually got it with foreground and didn't blow out my moon! I have tried and tried but never succeeded at this before.
So here's my 2 SOOC moon shots tonight :) Hmm they look darker now that they're downloaded on here :(

Thanx Don I appreciate that. Figuring out the exposure triangle last summer really helped me not have to be so snaphappy to get a shot. I'm slowly figuring out lighting because black dogs with dark eyes have always been a very serious frustration for me. It's all about the light :)
I know my subjects can get boring especially since I'm not that interested in processing nor am I terribly creative but I do appreciate the critiques because I do think I've gotten better over the past year which really pleases me :) It's nice not using auto and taking 3 shots of the same thing hoping one will work out. Now I only need one click and I know if it'll turn out before I click my shutter which is very nice

Sorry I missed your birthday. Happy belated Birthday. I don't recall seeing it on the calendar.

I'm having so many problems viewing photos since the server move. Your photos have been locking up my P/C, so I view them last.

I'm so far behind checking my subscribed threads. Some day I hope to catch up.
