Hello everyone!
I'm Dominique from France. I've always been a Nikon user, since half a century ago. My first camera was a Photomic FTn and my current one is a Z7 II, although I also keep my older D3s and a D850, with a couple of F-mount lenses. Never felt the need to move to the Z8 or Z9, as image quality/dynamic range is of primary importance to me. Nowadays I practice mostly "heritage" photography, i.e., architecture, old stones, still lifes outdoors or in the studio, and some landscapes. My specialty is Romanesque architecture, i.e., between roughly 1000 and 1200 AD 3but I’m happy to shoot anything older than that!
For general photography, I use Z-mount lenses: 35mm, 50, 85, all in f/1.8, and 105 macro 2.8, all Nikkors. For zooms, 14-30 and 24-120 in f/4, and the 100-400 for extra reach. For architecture, I for the moment stick to F-mount lenses: the three tilt-shifts in 19mm, 45 and 85.
Being retired from the legal profession, I now work as a (mostly) pro bono photographer for several large non-profit organizations (foundations) in the field of heritage protection and restoration. I also have several "real" clients, among which some owners of Historic Landmarks, the French Ministry for Culture and its equivalent in Spain.
