Cold here in ND too.. about 20 degrees, but crystal clear skys. Photos are looking just OK, i cannot for the life of me get a sharp focus

Air turbulence. I have the same problem.

Kinda bumming me out that in the pictures I can hardly differentiate the Eclipse from just different stages of the moon cycle. However it is super cool to watch.

Fired a few of there about 1/2 covered. Back out in an hour, in my shorts and no shirt here in So Cal.

I can't see if well enough with only my 200 mm to get accurate focus =[

Try LiveView.

Turn off AF now 'cause soon it will be too dark for AF to work.
