It comes in black too, don't worry. IMO it's smart for Nikon to offer a different color DSLR. Just look at how many colors Coolpix cameras come in.

I don't like the red, either, but I'm assuming that they're attempting to appeal to a younger, feminine market.

Well the D3100 came in red as well and you don't see too many of those around, so I wouldn't got too worked up about it! ;-)

At a glance, I am not sure yet whether or not I like the functionality (button layout) of the camera, it is a little bit different than what I am used to, but I definitely can't say I like the red. For some reason, it looks "inexpensive". Best word I could find.

The specs on this are impressive as is the price. They should sell thousands of these!

Where is the D400???
