My go to "theme' this month when I can't find anything to shoot is texture. I was trying to capture the different textures of fur on the same dog:

Hahaha! I have been battling something between bronchitis and pneumonia for the last week and I didn't even notice the board had a right side up! It has been all I can manage to take a picture each day.

Been skipping through looking at the pictures and never noticed this post, take care and speedy recovery

Thanks for the good wishes. This has not been a good winter. First a sprain and now a virus of some sort. But I am on the mend and was able to get out in the sun today to do some shooting. I went to one of my favourite parks today.

That is odd but actually pretty nice. Can't tell scale so how big is it and what is it?

I believe it was a broach of some sort. It looks like something hung from it by the ring on the back. My Mom had it in her jewellery box when I was a kid and I inherited it when she passed. Now my daughter can say the exact same thing about it! :D

Our favourite season!

Continuing my texture theme, I made this black and white to highlight the different vegetations on this hill.

Sorry, I am going to torture you with more light painting. it is something I am interested in learning to do properly so you get to see my "lessons".

This one was 30 second exposure with red cellophane over the light source.

It is a flashlight which I narrowed down with a black paper funnel. And then I put red cellophane over the end hole. I will post a picture of the set up tomorrow when my battery is charged.

Here are todays. Nothing special. Just a couple of quick shots.

Day61_.jpg
This is the flashlight and the paper funnel I made. Red cellophane over the end the light shines out. Put the flashlight in the tube and then I outlined the edge of the guitar with the light continuously until the my 30 seconds was up.

Day61a_.jpg
This is the guitar I used and I spread out a black blanket on the floor to set it on. Set my camera up on the tripod focused and ready to go. Use the remote shutter and Bob's your uncle.

And just a couple of quick ones from the feeder.

That is pretty simple to set up. I'll have to give that a try. Thanks for showing me.

I don't plan to take up portrait photography so I don't own any lights or umbrellas or reflectors. But my son needed a photo for his online profile so I did the best I could with what I've got! I have never taken a shot like this before. Maybe you guys could give me some tips. I am sure there are things I could have done different even without equipment.
