I hope we don't loose power. I went to fire up the gas fireplace yesterday and it wouldn't light. The thermo coupling doesn't seem to be good. Pilot won't stay lit.

Hope you don't need to use that generator. We had to live off one for 14 days during Hurricane Wilma. Not fun at all.

Thanks. !400 homes lost power in our county but we did not. The worst I ever had was 9 day but it was also in the winter. It's an adventure for about 2 of those.

Have not been out shooting for a while. Most of the parks are closed because of the snow, they quit plowing the lots etc. The local Wildlife Management Area has postponed opening their roads, which usually open March 1, until further notice. Most of the lakes and the river is frozen over and the birds have moved on to the few places where there is open water, mostly small streams. Besides life and work also got in the way. I did however replace my 16 year old beater pickup with a Nissan Frontier 4x4. The last of my winter survival gear (looks like another storm coming our way Sunday into Monday). So a couple of shots when I brought the new family member home tonight.

Congrats on the new vehicle Alan. Bet it doesn't stay that clean for long with all the weather you're having!!

Great looking truck. Now keep it clean and shinny.

I have an Xterra. Basically the same thing. It is one hell of a vehicle. One of the best I have owned. It will go anywhere and do anything. And that truck needs some mud on the tires!

Those are nice as well. Hopefully this lasts as long as my 98 Dakota did.

The few open water spots are crowded. Got this quick shot on the way to the office. Sooner or later the thaw will come.

Any bare ground is better than snow. The creek flows into the lake here and the warmer water and southern exposure has melted off a small area and the hill side.

A few birds on the little open water. This time of year there would normally be hundreds of waterbirds on here. As you see the rest is totally frozen.

Not a lot of people parking on this lot. That's about 6 inches of solid pack snow and ice. In fact you can walk on top of it. Many of the recreational areas around are actually closed. This one is open but you have to walk in. Not an easy walk.
