Advice on lens

Hi guys, from my signature, you guys must have guessed correctly that I have gone ahead to purchase both the D610 and as 24-120 f4 vr lens.

On my first week, I tried out the combnation of D610 with both my afd 50 f1.8 and as 70-300 vr. I have no complaint but yet to try out the afs 24-120 f4 lens. I am sure it is going to work given my experience with the other 2 lenses.

The niton afs 14-35 f2.8 or the 16-35 would be a perfect completion for me. But I don't think I want to spend that kind of money for occasional landscape. My 24-120 should cover most of my requirement at 24mm.

Any good recommendation for a 14 mm lens that will not break my bank? I read the samyang lens are pretty cheap but received ot very good review.

Thanks guys for all the guidances

When you don't have a super wide, do remember that you can use the camera in vertical position and do panorama by shooting multiple shots and stitching them later. LR does a great job with stitching.

When I went from DX to FX, I had the 35mmD and 50mmD lenses. A lot cheaper. I had bought an older 35-70mm/3.3 for $25 and was ready to get rid of it due to the 300s having a lot of noise using it. I used it on the 610 and now I am keeping it. The noise cleaned up on the FF. So, try some older lenses on the 600. you might be surprised.

Samyang 14mm is reputed to be a good lens, reasonably priced. Distortion data is available on the net so that most RAW software can rectify distortion.

For utrawides MF is rarely a problem as most of the FOV (barring very close objects) are in focus when set to hyper focal distance.
