Thanks, but no thanks.

"The $10 deal will be live in a few weeks..." Deal? $120/year, year after year. I'll stick with the versions I have.

The reason I bought CS6 was so I would not have to ever deal with there cloud nonsense.
The big problem is they will probably do good and that will be the direction of all large applications in the future.

The offer, which isn’t simply an “introductory offer,” will be available to anyone who currently owns Photoshop CS3 or higher. You’ll be able to sign up for it through December 31st, 2013 once Lightroom 5.2 is announced in “a couple weeks.”
If you’re already paying $20 a month to subscribe to Photoshop CC, you’ll be automatically switched to the new cheaper rate if your account shows that you own a qualifying previous version of the software.

Cliff Note version: We've fleeced you enough to make the boat payments, so we're going to give you a little break. As for those who haven't given us tons of money already, tough cookies.

I highly dislike the cloud service. I would rather pay for something I will own than rent something. Thankfully, I have LR5 and CS6 but eventually, these will be outdated. I wish that they would keep both options out rather than eventually move to all cloud services. I know this will benefit them but not me personally.

I agree with Mikeh. They will most likely do good and make this a permanent thing and get ride of a physical ownership product. I see this for tons of companies happening as well.

I'm actually on the other side of the fence. . . add up how much a Photoshop and Lightroom upgrade cost every year or so and I don't think it is such a bad deal. I'll always have the latest version too. The best part is that if you start the service before December 31, 2013 the price will never go up. I'm in.

I just checked the cost of a Behance Pro site, it's $11 a month or $99 a year, so at $9.99 a month for the Pro site and they throw in the newest PS and LR, I'm sold.
And you can indeed sell items from the Behance Pro site, in case anyone was wondering.

Has Adobe actually listed this yet and is it indeed for life? I am thinking that if they do that then I am in. Can you install it on a desktop and laptop like you can their owned copies?

The roll-out date has been postponed until tomorrow...
Bastards.

While I don't like the idea of subscription-based software, neither do I see the deal getting any *better* than this $10 Photographers Package. I sure as hell don't see the price going DOWN in the future, you know?

So yeah... I'll be signing up.

......

Now if we could find any info about Fotomoto product pricing. They won't list it on the site so as to protect photographers profit margins. Also they have three plans for selling. The free plan charges a 22% transaction fee and going down to 10% for $25 a month. Fotomoto | Sell Images and Print Products on Your Own Website

would be nice to know what the print prices are so we could know what we would have to charge customers in order to maintain the margins we need. Anyone here using them now?

If you bought PhotoShop with the Education discount don't worry about this offer. It is not available to you.

From their site
"This offer is not available to Education, OEM, or volume licensing customers."
