5 Day Black & White Challenge

Maybe add into the guidelines that once nominated, you can wait to start, but once started, you should do 5 days in a row. That would give the nominee a little control so maybe they plan for the weekend, and decompress the thread a little too.

Just a thought.

I don't want to complicate it any more than it is. Funny, but when you post guidelines they quickly become rules than can be broken. I've already given folks the ability to decline, so if nothing else, if you get nominated too soon, let folks know, "Thanks but no thanks - I'll let you know when I'm ready".

Day 3 (I think)

What I was looking at most of the day. Somewhere in Pennsylvania.

My apologies for missing yesterday!! Between extra hours at work and being under the weather; I crashed out as soon as I got to sit down last night. I'll make up for it this evening with two shots, if that's ok!?!

Nice! This is obviously not near me as we don't have hills in my part of PA. We DID have those types of clouds though. ;)

Funny thing. All my young life, I imagined Pennsylvania was flat. Then drove through the middle of it one day.

When you say you don't have hills in your part, I'm guessing you mean significant hills. I've been thru the middle and in all four corners and don't remember anything that could be called flat.

Shame shame. Dragged me in and then skip a day. They better be two exceptional pics.:)

Day 4

I've been at work all day so no chance to take any photos, but I did pick this telescope up on the way home :) (a friend was selling it)
So this weekend I will be looking for an adaptor so I can connect my camera to it

Just reminding folks, you don't have to shoot every day to participate, just post a B&W you haven't done previously. Didn't shoot? Revisit your catalog and pick something you never finished.

Day 3 -- Van Sant Covered Bridge

I didn't have time to photograph anything today so here is one taken this past October--not edited previously. Last year I think I took a similar shot with my D90 as my D600 was out for repair. This year I had my D610 and really wanted a full-frame shot.

Edited to straighten the bridge slightly.

I must say, there has been some very good pictures posted on this thread.

It's amazing how a black and white pictures can be just as good as a coloured picture. :)

I find the reverse true. for me color photos are for emotion. But with black and white...those are the ones that tell a story. I feel that sometimes colors can take away from a photos message. people get too caught up in the colors and it can sometimes hurt a photo.

For me a well executed B&W speaks louder than its color counterpart.
