16-35 vs 14-24

Looks like I'll get to see some more examples before I jump! On a side note, I tend to crop extreme corners/edges anyway, so I wouldn't over think the extreme corner sharpness.

Yes Rick, I do the same. And, if I had wanted to frame the shot like with the 14-24 I could have backed up a few steps and I would have covered the same framing. It's when you're working inside that the extra 2mm can become really handy.

Same here, which is why I wanted the extra 2mm. Who knows, maybe like Marcel I'll one day be awash in ultrawides? We all need someone to look up to!! :)

I did a lot of pondering, thinking about what I did and didn't like about each, and moreso what I wanted and didn't want. Ultimately, the ability to stick a high value ND filter on there and do long daylight exposures without trying to figure out how else to make that happen has me willing to give it a go. Then went to B&H and saw that it was $150 cheaper than Amazon (who is usually right there with them). And then I remembered I had close to $60 in B&H dollars. I just hope they shop mine out first, Ted. ;)

And yes, Marcel, it's your fault. LOL

Mine is on its way and should be delivered on Friday!

That's what you thing, Marcel. ;)

Never thought to put VR on a wide angle, but I'm shooting tack sharp at 1/4 sec. and 16mm. Nothing but a dark and messy desk with papers and small print I can read - unworthy of sharing but it's worth mentioning. Digging it. Just wish I could get out with it. Alas, I have a memorial service and funeral over the next two days. It'll make for a nice recovery come Friday.

The VR is quiet impressive, it is the lens I use most of the time.

I'd like to hear from you guys how it performs at 28-35mm. It looks great wide!

Well, I think Jake is going to have to fill you in on this one. I'm hoping mine doesn't show up until next week. *

* Reverse psychology is a technique involving the advocacy of a belief or behavior that is opposite to the one desired, with the expectation that this approach will encourage the subject of the persuasion to do what actually is desired: the opposite of what is suggested. This technique relies on the psychological phenomenon of reactance, in which a person has a negative emotional response in reaction to being persuaded, and thus chooses the option which is being advocated against. :uncomfortableness:

OK, Ted, I'm giving you until about 1PM ET to get your box, then I'm off work for the afternoon and out with the camera. :)

Thanks for the consideration, but UPS delivers very late in the afternoon (4-7pm), so I'll just have to enjoy it vicariously through your report. Have fun!
