    playing with the z180-600

no wildlife where I live - my cats don't fly without help. Here's a TV antenna on a neighbours house. No processing, the first image is as 360mm then I cropped it 100% or so, then the third is at 1200mm TBH for a non-S lens, this is pretty pleasing! #1 #2 #3

    Alternative to Wimberley Monogimbel head

I’ve used the wimberley head for years … 6 years with DSLRs and the F 200-500 on a monopod, then 3 years with a Z6 and now the Z8 with the z70-200 But those lenses have a collar ring that allows the camera to freely rotate making using the wimberley a joy. But now I have a z180-600 and the...

    Filters etc

A generic subject. Are you guys aware that the 112mm filter threaded hood for the z14-24 f2.8 also fits the z 24-70 f2.8 and the z 70-200 f2.8? I got the Kase Magnetic filters which come in a handy case as well. They’re brilliant.

    Z 70-200mm F2.8 S

Well I ordered this. I’ve only got the z 24-70mm f4, but more and more I find that I need a longer reach. Hopefully they’ll start shipping in the next few weeks. by the way, as most of my DSLR lenses were DX, I sold them all and didn’t get the FTX adaptor... taking a long term Z lens view

    Power adaptor

Playing around with the D7500 indoors, I thought I’d save battery power by using the adaptors. so I bought the EH-5B power adaptor and the EP-5B connector (as per the manual). however, plugging these in and I’m not getting any power. Has anybody tried to use a power connector?

    White Balance

Well I just played around setting d-1 and d-2, but now I found you can’t delete them. You can ignore or what people do is overwrite them, but you can’t delete. Now you know :)

    How to hold super zoom

Well I've got my very first, the Nikkor 200-500 plus a nice carbon tripod/monopod. But, several have said they hold it using good Black Rapid strap....which I have too. Question: using the strap only, do you fix to camera or zoom lens foot? Silly question but I'm a newbie [emoji848] Sent from...

    Tenba Messenger Mini Case

I decided to get myself a small day bag. this one from Tenba had good reviews, so I bought one off Amazon. Got it next day delivery which was cool. Its a mini case, but I got a lot of stuff into it! Lots more than I'd need on a day out. D7100 & Nikkor 18-300mm 3.5-6.6G attached 3 more lenses...

    Focus issues

Using short zoom. Tried different number of focal pints. Camera fails to focus. Chosen well defined subjects with lots of lines etc. sometimes finds focus, holds for a second, then loses it. Is it softwareissue? You can hear the lens hunting. I have latest firmware. Using P mode and...

    Editing scenes

I'm exploring using the two user defined presets on the left dial, namely U1 and U2 The idea was to select a scene, then change various settings to see what the resultant photo looked like. So I selected the 'Pet' scene and saved it to U1. Now when I rotate from say A to U1 I see the animal...

    Borrowed 18-70 Nikor 3.5-4.5 G DX

My own 18-135 is in for repair (again) and as I'm off to Venice in a couple of days, the shop lent me one of these for the week. It's not a new lens, but the 50 or so shots over the past two days I've been quite impressed with this old boy. It's heavier than I'm used to, but that's no issue...

    Remote Control

Has anybody used TriggerTrap? https://triggertrap.com/products/triggertrap-mobile/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=nikoniphone&utm_campaign=postx I was looking at Nikon's wireless remote control. Seems awfully pricey - something like £650 for one unit. whet they don't say is...

    Autumn Colours

I'm reading that in the UK the current dry spell and wet year generally should produce some spectacular colours as the trees go through the autumn. I was inVermont one October when the leaves changed... Every shade of rad through amber....simply superb. So lets see the leaves my friends...

    Noisy focussing 18-135

I've had this kit lens for just over 2years. its started making quite a loud clicking clunking noise when auto focussing, and seems to hunt quite a bit. I guess it's a repair jobbie? :-(
