An exercise in perspective correction (as an example to the Mrs.)
I know I'm a little late to the game on this one. Image seems a flat and monotone, and sort of suffers from something to focus on. Using PSE 9 (nothing fancy), did an overall light adjustment to brighten it a bit, then I used the burn tool to darken the midtones in the rocks in the foreground...
I've only been to the Bricktown area, which has some interesting old and repurposed structures, along with a cool little waterway running through it. I believe @Pretzel is far more familiar with the area and will likely have some suggestions.

Amazed that it took me this long before I had to shoot my dinner. Managed to squeeze in time to eat today, but not much else. Some Indian lamb dish my wife put together. Just enough spice that the neck was sweaty but my collar wasn't damp. :)
2014-063:
Salvaged (barely) something to post after utterly failing to get proper lighting for what I was trying to do. I really need to get a better space for studio work.
And because I mentioned it, here's what I managed to get with a camera set at the wrong ISO and wrong mode, with a...
Specifically? Just the 18-105mm. The rest? The way I look at it, eggs is eggs, so there's nothing there that doesn't have an analogous body/lens in my kit somewhere.
That said, even if you were seriously willing to ship me and a guest 1/2 way around the world, I am absolutely the wrong...
With using the 50mm you don't need shutter speed that high, so you could have dropped the ISO down and been fine (unless you needed it because the dog kept moving). My only real criticism is that focus is on the nose and not the eyes, and sharp eyes are critical in any portrait. Perhaps...

Could be another week of me not getting out anywhere, but just in case, I've provided an outlet to prevent you from critter pics all week. Both shots with the D600 and Sigma 105mm macro.
Your Move
This frame game is making me crazy, and I'm enough a DIY-er that I will not pay someone to custom cut mats for me when I suspect I can justify the cost of one just with the framing jobs I want to do for the house.
For those of you who do your own framing, what's a good mat cutter to get? I've...
2014-061: Part 3
Stop 3 was an old church and cemetery just beyond town. The church has seen some better days, but seems spic-and-span on the inside. It was set up for Christmas, but I can't honestly say if it was this Christmas or last.

2014-061: Part 2
Stop 2 was Hampton, NJ. I've been meaning to drive through here because I remember there being some really interesting homes. Was disappointed because apparently I must have been seeing things. But when I turned down a side street I ran into a couple things that were far...
2014-061: Part 1
Ran out to get the Sunday paper and told the Mrs. that I'd "be a little while". Decided I wasn't coming home until I found something to shoot.
Stop 1, fuel. I almost never hit the fast food chains, but when I do it's for a breakfast sandwich, today with a side of candid...

Thankfully since I've had little time to think about taking pictures this week my new friend has made it easy by posing 5 feet away from my kitchen window. We had some pears that were "old", so she got a treat. Thankfully, she's figured out that she's not supposed to poop on the...
Nasim followed up his D600/610 walkthru with one for the D800, for those so inclined. Always easier than reading the manual ;)
Recommended Nikon D800 / D800E Settings
I can see the EXIF on the two of these.

Thanks, Don. Let's just say that there was some significant tweaking in the lens correction module. Maybe "significant" is too much, but with buildings it's tough. This was an HDR that then got further tweaked. Here's the original perspective before I fixed parking lot and perspective issues...

I am officially declaring Fridays "50-Friday" for the rest of the year. So I've got 47 days where I am going to try to commit to shoot with nothing but a 50mm prime. I suspect that a couple days in the year will wreak havoc with this, so I figure if I get 40 of 47 I will be OK...
