    Piperbarb's 2013 Project 365

2-23-13: Okay, when the weather is yucky, damp, and drizzly, I can rely on any one of my 4 cats for photos. The dog, not as much. :) Yes, as mentioned yesterday, cats can be wonderful opportunities for Project 365. This afternoon, I took my camera into the living room, and just sat there...

    Piperbarb's 2013 Project 365

2-22-13: Okay, no feline or canine photos, just a hyacinth bulb in water. I saw it yesterday while grocery shopping and could not resist. With my black thumb, I will be very surprised if the poor plant makes it to adulthood.

2-21-13: Being sick forces one to look around and see what there is to photograph. Jenny was a good subject this afternoon. Much more photogenic than the cats were today. :) Interested Ho Hum. Cats are Boring

2-20-13: Houseplants on window shelves can be opportunistic photo targets, especially when one is sick with a nasty cold caught from students in school. The first is a flowering succulent that my teacher aide gave me last week. Seen Better Days I really like cacti. This is the other cactus...

    Your first camera...

I wasn't sure where to post this thread, but figured this category was a good as any other. What was your first camera, and how old were you? My first one was one of those "spy cameras" you could purchase via mail order from one of those ads in the back of comic books. They cost a couple of...

    Piperbarb's 2013 Project 365

2-19-13: Dreary, sleety/rainy/snowy day, but I already had my photo planned, so I really did not care that the weather was icky. The stories of Beatrix Potter continue. This time: The Old Lady in the Shoe: Rob, she is the same vintage as Mr. Jeremy Fisher.

2-18-13: Took advantage of a beautiful sunny day and also having the day off. I love the texture of frozen ice. Ice Hole Went outside, and while driving, I spotted rows and stacks of plastic pipe made by a local plastic pipe company. It was the geometry and lighting that intrigued me...

2-17-13: As promised for Rob, here is the underside of Mr. Jeremy Fisher: This figurine is circa mid- to late=1960s. Buster has no problems getting his photo taken. Flash does not bother him in the least.

2-16-13: Okay, today's photos. This first one is in response to Rob's photo of Jemima Puddleduck. I loved Beatrix Potter characters when I was growing up, and still love them today. Below is Mr. Jeremy Fisher. I have had this figurine for a long time. Mr. Jeremy Fisher This next photo is...

2-15-13: Not a great day, photographically, but I did get something. I just started knitting a scarf for the teacher aide in my classroom. She is transferring to a different department as of March 1st, so I decided I had better get started on the scarf. She has no idea.... yet. Her favorite...

2-14-13: Okay, for all of you who got the mystery photo yesterday, here are the spools in context. For those of you who have developed film, this photo should be nostalgic. For those who have only been in the digital world, enjoy a bit of "old school." There are 3 35mm spools and 1 120/220...

2-12-13: Still playing with the new camera and favorite lens. The first photo is just a test of colors. I grabbed an assortment of sock yarns in some of my favorite colors. Pallette Now the rest are opportunistic feline photos: Oh, Really.... Creature is always good for a shot or two...

    Video on D7000

Since getting my new D7000 on Friday, I have actually played with some video. I'm not a video person but it has been a lot of fun playing with it. Not exactly sure how to deal with the autofocus on it for videos. Anyone have suggestions? Right now, I'm using my cats & spousal unit as subjects.

2-11-13: Okay, back to the dreary winter weather (in the 40s F and drizzling. Yuck!). I have had this little malachite egg for a number of years. At least it's greenish, more than I can say for what's outside. Green Egg, No Ham

2-10-13: I took advantage of a relatively warm day (in the high 30s F) and intermittent sunshine. I forgot what sunshine looked like. :) When I looked up at these trees, they reminded me of the circulatory system. Circulation Back to my favorite creek. This is the portion of the creek that...

2-9-13: We got less than 7" of snow, luckily, but the snow still gave me a lot of opportunities to play with my new D7000. I did screw up the date when I was setting up the camera and did not realize it until I had uploaded photos to my computer. Some of the dates are 2-11-13. Oh well. :)...
