    General Architecture and Structure Parts

If you have some type of post processing software, you should be able to adjust the perspective on the first building like I did here. And I removed some of the shadows and added a little contrast. When you use the perspective correction option, it will crop your photo some so you need to allow...

Scroll wheel behavior in PS cc

I'm glad it helped. Wasn't sure if it would as I don't use a mouse that has a tilt wheel--found I was doing all kinds of crazy things when I didn't really want to! And @BackdoorHippie will be happy to find out I'm really good with doing searches. ;) This was literally the very first...

    Hark's 2014 Occasional Photos

After reading about the weekly assignment titled earth, I felt the best way to represent the earth is with a circular fisheye lens. The problem is I don't own one and don't think I'd use one enough to justify getting one. So I looked online to see if it was possible to create a fisheye effect...

Weekly Challenge Oct 29 - Nov 05: Topic EARTH

Earth: When thinking through what I wanted to convey in my image, I wanted to include as many key features of what the earth contains Water: approximately 70% of the earth's surface is water which is why the majority of my photo represents this Land: another key feature of the earth Living...

    Post your latest purchases.

A few weeks ago, I decided to photograph Bowman's Tower with my Nikon 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5 lens. It accepts 77mm filters. Since I didn't have a Circular Polarizer filter in 77mm, I decided to use a step up ring and mount my 82mm Sigma slim CP. This was my first time doing so. What I didn't do was...

    Post your Photographing the photographer.

This photo showed up on my Facebook timeline (I added the arrow)...someone caught me in their photograph. My church sponsored an event to bag beans and rice that will get shipped overseas. Usually I'm the one behind the camera. The caption with the photo states Got the camera woman that time.

    Hark's 2014 Occasional Photos

If I remember correctly, I took these photos around October 6th. The leaves hadn't changed much, and overall I wasn't too happy with what I shot that day. After editing a few photos, my laptop was almost completely filled with files and photos so I needed to remove a lot of items. I thought I...

Where to register a domain name

Which sites are recommended for registering a URL? GoDaddy.com and Register.com are two of many sites out there. Any pros/cons to consider when choosing a domain registration site? Thanks for any info! :)

How about an actual Education section under Learning Photography?

@BackdoorHippie can you give some specifics on sub forums that can be created within a new Learning Photography forum? Off the top of my head, I can think of topics such as composition, lighting, and possibly contrast/color. I'm sure there are others. I too feel the current Learning Photography...

Weekly Challenge August 20 - 27: Contrasting Colours

I actually went in search of a McDonald's sign only to find out my local McDonald's was remodeled. Instead of the traditional red and yellow sign, they had a yellow 'M' on the side of a beige colored building. Not much as far as contrast goes. :( But right near the McDonald's was the bank so I...

    D600 shutter replacement news

@BackdoorHippie my cost issue was because of the way the camera store wrote the receipt. Initially I returned my first D600 for exchange (due to spots). Since it came with 'freebies' that weren't even listed when I ordered the camera, I only swapped out the body and held onto the 'freebies.' The...

How to remove copyright info on hundreds of photos

I inadvertently left my D610 set with my copyright info, and when I take theater photos of the students, I don't want it attached to the files. The reason is when the photos are posted to Facebook, the copyright info is automatically added as a comment to every photo, and with hundreds of...

Making D600 colors look like Canon colors.

Have you tried adjusting the hue in Photoshop? I adjusted it to +2, and the difference is very subtle but with a slightly less orange cast. Edit: In this particular image, keep in mind the child might pick up a little bit of orange from the reflected light off the guitar case's lining, too.

    Nikon branded Black Rapid strap

For those who are interested in getting a Black Rapid strap, it seems Nikon is selling one with a Nikon logo on it. The logo is on a small tag so the name isn't overly obvious like the straps that usually come with their cameras. AN-SBR2 BlackRapid Quick Draw Strap from Nikon AN-SBR3...
