    Post your flag shots

In remembrance of those who gave it all, teaching The Child the importance of Memorial Day in the USA. It is the way. Thank you to all who serve! (For the record, took my own flag with me because I wasn't going to touch one on display!)

    May 2020 Theme: Floral Creativity

Floral Creativity #1 This was all created from one image. I duplicated the layer and applied the Twirling technique that @BackdoorArts introduced to the forum a few years ago. I also applied a Drop Shadow to the masked portion of the flowers layer. If anyone ever does that (applies a layer...

    flash sync with remote

As @FredKingston mentioned, Nikon's CLS operates completely different. You might need to buy a Nikon commander flash as what I'm reading indicates the D5000 doesn't support CLS. No additional receiver is required providing you are using a Nikon made flash that supports CLS (which your SB-700...

    Hark 2020

Still not seeing much unusual wildlife around the area. These are from our back yard. Note: the pole is crooked. One of these days I'll remove both the pole and feeder and replace with a new combo. The birds don't seem to mind. In fact, some of the larger birds such as pigeons seem to enjoy this. ;)

    Choices, choices

I don't have any mirrorless bodies. Maybe @BackdoorArts can give you an idea of other non-Nikon bodies. Since the Z7 is full frame and you aren't shooting mainly wildlife or sports, the full-frame aspect should fit the bill nicely.

    upgrades

As long as you are aware, that's fine. My D7200 grip has contacts that attach to contacts on the bottom of the camera body which allows an exchange of information. Like @Danno said, if you are looking to shoot fast moving subjects such as birds, wildlife, or sports, the D500 would be the better...

    Hark 2020

Today I shot several photos of geese along with goslings. Thanks to @Marcel for providing the inspiration. Lately geese are the only larger sized birds I've been able to find. But since I am not a geese fan, I've passed up several opportunities to photograph them. This is just one from this...

Suggestions for the June monthly challenge

Since some areas are still experiencing restrictions due to the virus (not only in the US but also abroad), please give me some suggestions for June's monthly challenge that will allow everyone to participate. Or maybe we can do a double topic like is being done for our current weekly challenge...

New NIK Collection 2 on sale

@BackdoorArts can you give a comparison between these two since you've used both extensively? Horoscope Fish have you used both of these? I know previously you used the Nik Collection. I can't remember your knowledge about Topaz.

While I am not a fan of geese, these goslings were really cute.

    Hark 2020

The first squirrel photo is cross-posted in the squirrel thread (and is cropped a little from the original file). I interrupted it eating out of the squirrel feeder. I swear it's giving me the finger in the first pic. ;) At least my TC seems to be working fine for now. For a while there, my...

    Post your Squirrel pictures

I don't think this was Wilson, but it appears to be after the hearts of many. Earlier this morning I put sunflower seeds in the squirrel feeder. The feeder has a hinged lid, and since the seeds were getting low, more than half of the squirrel's body was inside the feeder trying to eat. First I...

    Post Your D7200 Photos

This is cross posted in my thread. This was shot at ISO 5000, and the exposure still had to be raised a little in PCC. Due to that, there was quite a bit of noise in the background as well as on some of the white hearts. Fortunately using an adjustment brush in Camera RAW helped lower the noise...

    Hark 2020

These first two images were taken back on April 14th. This one was taken yesterday. I'm surprised the hearts have held up well despite temps dropping down into the 30's during a couple nights.

    Hark 2020

I haven't kept up with posting my images here. During this past month I've taken photos that I haven't yet posted, but I will simply add a couple from today - Male Red-Winged Blackbird.
