Post your favorite October shot 2022

This little guy/gal wasn't afraid of me. It seems people feed the wildlife at this waterfront park so I assume the squirrel is comfortable around people.

    Nikon 70-200 f/4 G Lens

@Dangerspouse - you mentioned the bokeh of this lens although this post isn't exactly talking about bokeh. I am not able to see in 3D; however, I can tell this image has depth to it. In fact, to me it seems as though there is more depth in this image than what I see in real life. Every once in a...

    Nikon 70-200 f/4 G Lens

Here is another one from yesterday. Since I am having issues with my shoulder and was using a monopod, I finally decided to lower my shutter speed knowing I wasn't going to photograph Rangle flying. This reached ISO 5000 with a shutter speed of 1/2000", but there really wasn't any reason to keep...

    Nikon 70-200 f/4 G Lens

Today I photographed a falconry event. Usually my go-to combo would be my D500 paired with my 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR lens. But after an injury to my shoulder, I cannot hold the weight. And since I'm not accustomed to using a monopod, I opted for my 70-200mm f/4 VR on a monopod. I figured it would...

    focus point stuck

In case you are still stuck (pun intended), here's a pic of the button/switch wev is referencing. Do you see the switch for the Focus Selector Lock? If it's pointing to the 'L', then your focus point is locked. Toggle the switch to unlock it. Pic comes from this link...

    November 2022 Monthly Assignment: SPOOKY

November Monthly Assignment: SPOOKY (Marcel's choice) Spooky doesn't have to relate to Halloween or anything seasonal. Whatever you would like to convey as Spooky is fine. IMPORTANT TO READ THE FOLLOWING: Let's get shooting! CREATIVITY/TECHNIQUE rules in this challenge, but there are a few...

    Nikon 70-200 f/4 G Lens

I have both the f/4 VR as well as the f/2.8 VRii. My copy of the f/4 is sharp. Wait, let me say it this way ... my copy of the f/4 is TACK SHARP! ;) Right out of the box, my f/4 was sharper than my f/2.8 VRii. And it is much lighter in weight than the f/2.8 making it preferable to use outdoors...

    Chicagohenge

Has anyone ever heard about this? The sunrise and sunset near the spring/fall equinox causes the sun to position itself directly between the buildings. Lots of people gather to photograph it...

    hark 2022

September my high school class held a reunion - delayed 2 years due to Covid. This was our first time at this venue. And it was quite nice. Throughout the evening, I took photos of everyone to share with those who weren't able to attend. At the end of the night, one of the guys asked for my...

    Strobe Control Panel Confusion

Maybe @WayneF can help decipher the panel. He's who I ask for help when it involves flash/strobe.

    Strobe Control Panel Confusion

I've spent some time searching for info on this model - it seems to be sold overseas more (such as Russia) than here in the USA. But Neewer does offer good items. Did you purchase it via Amazon? I'm asking because this link shows a different looking model yet further down the page, it shows the...

    What do you think?

Needa, do you remember where you focused for this? There is a little more area in focus behind a focus point rather than in front of it. I wonder if you had focused on the second duck's neck (where the brown and white meet), if that would have allowed you a tad more focus overall. This app...

    big white bird

@wev - how did you switch from the image uploading as an attachment to having it post along with your text? This is what I see. No matter how I mark the radio buttons (such as None, Large, Default) the forum won't take it. And there isn't anything under the Target dropdown menu.

    big white bird

wev is trying to help me upload images in a For Sale ad. This is what I see. There isn't any way to insert an image. I even tried linking from a gallery - but no luck. Is it different for Admins?

Voting for AUG 31 - SEPT 06 Weekly Challenge: Photo with Title or Caption

I took the liberty of adding captions next to their names. I hope @Needa will be okay with that. By the way, sorry DS - I accidentally edited your post instead of quoting it. That's why you'll see your post was 'edited.' In reality it wasn't, but it left a footprint.
