As far as I'm aware, it's a choice between one or the other. At least all of my DSLR's operate with it being AF-L only.

I had a Yashica 35mm film rangefinder camera which was superb compared to the Kodak 126 film cameras. After I purchased a Minolta 35mm manual focus SLR, I gave the Yashica to my brother. Yashica has excellent glass!

You'd be looking for a Nikon EN-4 battery. I kind of doubt Nikon still makes them, but it's possible aftermarket batteries are available. Sometimes aftermarket ones don't always allow a camera body to function perfectly. But looking for the battery by name might help. Welcome to Nikonites!

Also ... look up Fat Gripz. They help develop the forearms as well as the biceps just by holding a fatter grip than a bicep curl bar offers. It's also more comfortable to hold something that is fatter especially when it weighs more.

If you are just starting back up, you'd be better off using a lighter weight and doing 2 sets of 10. But a curl machine isn't enough. There are several dumbbell exercises you can do which will work different areas of the biceps. Do they have a bicep curl bar in addition to the curl machine? Any...
