i recently had to take a self-portrait as a requirement for a geocache.
I put the camera on a tripod, set the camera to Auto, and used the bluetooth app on my phone to fire the camera.
Exposure was way off for me (fill flash in PP), but sharp as a tack!
This is another old picture from my pre-DSLR days.
Apparently the humidity in my car was high. How the spores got there (and only there) and in almost perfect spacing is strange indeed.
I don't understand why my EXIF information on this forum always adds an extra zero to both sides of the shutter speed (10/1250).
I have seen images from other contributors with it showing correctly.
It does show correctly in my Photo Gallery on Windows 10.
Thanks.
I hear these are called "Simpsons Clouds" (after the cartoon TV show).
For this one I was on this hilltop meadow looking West. (see map)
I went up there to look for a geocache hidden at the cemetery.
Always learning department!
Apparently I knew what a leading line was without having ever heard the term before!
I was going to ask for a definition, but decided to try Google instead. Easy!

Dragging up an ancient thread here (I did a search on 'Reflex-Nikkor 500mm f/8'), and to a point I agree with Kodiak.
This is one of my cats, indoors with the reflex. I only got one shot off, at 1/160.
Seeing how this was on a DX sensor, it is a 750mm shot (right?).
It was very close, if not...
My 18-55 kit lens. (unemployed for the moment)
I have an old 300mm f4 screw focus (manual on the D5300). I had to pull it out the other day to get a picture of a feral cat that has been hanging around.
And my 500mm reflex (total noob purchase!) is manual everything, metering included. It can...
$450 refurb D5300 w/18-55 kit lens gives me this!
Cropped from the original image. I don't know the terminology for the crop factor, but this is just the center flower, no resizing.
The second picture is the original, resized to 1000 on the long side.
Previous post reminded me of these, from my pre nice-camera days.
I am convinced that squirrels are natures gardeners.
These were taken in October (northern hemisphere) in my front yard - after my doctor convinced that I would be better off pushing my own lawn mower. (more money than brains...
Just a snapshot to share on Facebook.
I rent, usually a single-family home, and often the lawn work has been done by uncaring people.
It only took one year of careful mowing to bring the tulips back to blossoming life.
I have two more with buds on them!
It is still a mystery to me.
I don't understand layers. I haven't figured out how to remove an unwanted object from a scene.
Mostly all I do is crop, resize, straighten (rotate) and enhance auto-levels.
Pretty sad. My copy is 2.0.
Here I tried to remove an air conditioner from the...
