Post your 'before' and 'after' pictures

I just installed the trial version of Lightroom/Photoshop CC. I have been working with a 2.0 version of Elements for over 10 years. I had to try that Spot Healing Brush tool! (and I am now employed) I removed two blades of grass on the right, and a couple of smaller (and fainter) on the...

    Small button on lens mount

I have a D5300, and a "D" (?) lens NIKKOR 300mm f/4 AF - Nikon Product Database It seem to be a switch to let the camera know this type of lens is mounted. My D lens has a tab on it to meet this switch.

Dawg Pics is learning new things in 2017.

I agree, and that is beautiful! (I like to shoot at night.) This is Butterfly my late kitty of 17 years. We would go for walks in my quiet neighborhood after work, which was usually 2, 3 in the morning. This was during a very bright moon overhead. "Moonshadow"

Web hosting site for Pics, Which ONE???

I used Pbase for years and really like it. Alas, when I was unemployed, things like that went to the wayside. But it isn't much money. They have EXIF, and I know that they have a catalog of cameras. Not sure about lenses. What is left of my account: tomfarr's Photo Galleries at pbase.com...

    Depth of Field Calculator

I shot this first picture with a small aperture, mostly by not paying attention to my settings. It occurred to me, so I went back and opened it up. I like the 2nd one better. f22 f1.8 DOF has been a part of my programming since H.S. shooting film in my SRT101. The "kit" lens mine came...

    General Architecture and Structure Parts

The old Indianapolis coke foundry is being torn down. I played with a filter (brush strokes > ink outlines) just for the heck of it on the first one. This is the entire building. This is a link to Google Street View that shows what it looked like before the demolition began...

    Post your Selfies

I needed a new photo for my Linkedin profile (still job hunting, F2F interview Monday!), so I went out in the back yard and did my best. This was my previous photo (ugh) Monday at 1400 EDT, keep me in your thoughts, so I can continue my decadent NAS way of life! (and pay the rent) :)

    Re: RobV's Job Hunt

Re: RobV's Job Hunt Well, I don't want to degrade the Moon Shot thread with my own personal job hunting drama, but that job didn't work out. It was supposed to be data entry for a chiropractor, but it didn't work out. The same day (Thursday) that we agreed that it wasn't for me, I received...

    first camera for a newbie

Where are you located again? (please put it in your profile) Ah, Canada. Yeah, probably no Craigslist. I Kijiji the same thing? Local? I use Craigslist a lot. I've never bought anything like a camera on it, but I would only pay attention to ads that offer up a shutter count, hopefully with...

    Post your motorcycles.

Oh! Wedding motorcycle photos, eh? I am not the photographer, but rather one of the subjects. :) The next day we got on our BMW motorcycles and began our 2-week honeymoon.

    Post your sunset shots

I don't think I have posted this one yet. From my pocket camera days. Sensor the size of a microchip.

    Novice looking for honest feedback!

I agree with @paul04, about the foreground, but I see how you got there with the rule. I could easily make a similar error. I am no expert at composition, never have been, really. Post processing has always been my friend, but I will admit that it was much easier to learn enlargers and...

    My Brother Borrowed My Camera

Man! I am Jonesin' (suffering from withdrawal) BAD! My brother, his wife, and their youngest son are away for 9 days on the Boy Scout Band tour, going as far as Montana, I believe. I just sold my motorcycle, so I finally had the money to get a UV filter, and a couple of 32 gig cards at my...

    The latest update about Bill16

My hair don't grow so good anymore. :'( 1977 But I can still grow a pretty good beard, when I am not unemployed... Just for comparison, this is what I did for job-hunting a couple of months ago:
