    Don's Old Daily Dabblings

Re: Don's Daily Dabblings One more from the D3100 August 2011 I had shot these in RAW but did not really have the skills to correct them back then. I am going to have to go back and reshoot this fountain now.

    Slow day

The day started off grey and cool but I did have time to go shoot anyway. Had to take the truck in to get something repaired that the Chevrolet dealer caused when they did a $500 repair on it last week. They were rather red faced after I had been telling them all week that it was their fault and...

Hello Camera - my daily photos

Great shots again. The reflection in the water shots are very nice. Would have been much nicer without the leash but that is not good for the dog.

What's my field of view on a 20mm f2.8D wide angle lens?

A couple of points. If you are shooting indoors with existing light then shoot in RAW + Fine and you can color correct so much better using the RAW. I shot some downtown at night recently and the difference is amazing when you correct the RAW shots. Uncorrected JPEG Corrected RAW

    Don's Old Daily Dabblings

Re: Don's Daily Dabblings Was going through some old photos tonight and found this one of my Mom and Dad in 1945. Tried cleaning it up a bit and it came out pretty good. On the other side of the dam is the lock and on the other side of the lock is a gold course. 18 years after this was shot...

    Photoshop Actions

The best way to describe Photoshop actions is to define them as recordings of steps you do in Photoshop. Lets say the you normally add a watermark to all your photos and then resize them down to upload them to this forum. You can automate that so that you just have to click on the action button...

    Planning My vacation

I live in Alabama. For my vacation I think I will start driving North visiting all the Nikonites along the East coast all the way up to Canada. I will spend the day with each one so they can show me all the great sites in their area. Then I will dog sled across Canada and shoot with all the...

    Don's Old Daily Dabblings

Re: Don's Daily Dabblings I have been working on my Photoshop skills recently so I opened one of my favorite old photos I shot with an old Canon POS in 2008. I think the reedit came out pretty good.

    500mm Mirror lens

Someone reminded me today about mirror lenses and it reminded me that I had a 500mm mirror lens somewhere in my old camera bag. Went back and found it and decided all it would take in a T-mount adapter to hook it up to my D5100. Adorama (HelenOster here on Nikonites) had them for $9 with free...

    Don's Old Daily Dabblings

Re: Don's Daily Dabblings First bloom. These Iris are some that I dug up from my Mother In Laws yard when we were getting it ready to sell. I put them in a plastic bag and was planning to plant them here at home. Well I forgot to plant them and they stayed in the plastic bag over the winter...
