How do you deal with aspect ratio?

It's ironic that the natural aspect of a 35mm film format and sensor is 8X12 and print paper in that aspect is so difficult to find. And pre-cut mats and frames in that aspect are even less available...

How do you deal with aspect ratio?

I use Lightroom...The first consideration is "how exactly the image is going to be used" ??? Social media or printed????? If I'm "printing" I generally crop for 11X14 because that's the majority of what I print... In your image, I'd select the 11X14 aspect ratio and then select as much of the...

Lightroom issues with NEF file format

If you have all your photos in the Lightroom Catalogue... I'm pretty sure you can just export those images directly as DNG files without the need for Adobe's DNG Conversion program... If you get comfortable with Nikon's NX, I think you can just directly import the NEF files and NX should read...

Lightroom issues with NEF file format

That's a pretty old version... There are so many newer, better enhancements to LR at this point, they're not even close.... You really should consider the new $9.99 subscription. There are many free programs as @Marilynne mentioned...

Lightroom issues with NEF file format

LR frequently releases updates that recognizes various camera RAW formats. Nikon deems it necessary to encode their NEF (RAW) files with specific camera models... The Z series cameras have been released since your outdated LR version has been updated... I haven't tried it, but I suspect if you...

    Post your Train shots!

There are methods and software now... to take an older low-resolution image (film scan) and using AI, it increases the resolution, reduces the noise, and sharpens the image... I notice that you sometimes post older low-res film images from years ago... and wonder if you intend to re-visit those...
