    Small Town Architecture

I thought it may be nice to start a small town architecture thread - mainly because New Zealand is 'small town" :D Here's the meeting centre on sporting nights in Raglan where everyone gathers for the big match on the big screen accompanied by a few beers and a meal. This is at the main...

    PS Elements 11

Quite pleased with myself as I found that on my own and figured it wasn't quite right but that I was on the right track. So I played around with it, wasn't sure if I should make adjustments to the 3 original RAW files so left them alone. Merged as above and then made adjustments and this is...

    PS Elements 11

I have Elements 11 - can I do HDR with that and if so how? If not what do I need to get?

    Post your flower pics

This was taken with my Vivitar 200mm telephoto (from my 35mm days) with converter. I thought I had all of the flower in so the "crop" is a bit disappointing.

    Watermarks or Copyright

Can anyone tell me how to do this on photos? I think it is a good idea now before I get really famous. :D

    Great photo (IMO)

This is not my photo but I think it is a great shot and shows a lot if imagination. A drummer in a band in action. It is a handheld shot with 2 second exposure taken under the light that was available. I found it on Wikimedia Commons Be interesting to hear what you guys think of it.

    Storing Photos

Just wondering where you all store your photos. I know some guys use flickr - are there any other options. I was thinking iCloud. I want to delete the bad ones and keep the ones that I currently like (not many) before I have too many to sort out. Good idea to start now.

    Photo Sizes

I read somewhere to size the photos to 1000 px at longest end and have been doing that. If not they get the chop anyway from the software on here. But when posting my photos they come out smaller than what I see some of the others are. Can someone explain? And while I have your attention is...

    Blue Glass

I just found this awesome piece of glass. Its like molten glass with a bottle neck melted into it. I spent an hour or so taking 40 odd photos of it from varying angles. I keep making the same mistake of not checking my White Balance so this was shot under "daylight" which it wasn't as I was...

    What is the Digital Equivalent?

I have a Vivitar 200mm 1:3.5 lens which I can fit to my D5100 with an adaptor. I know I will lose auto focus but if I go this route it is only till I can afford a decent new lens. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the equivalent is in today's modern lenses. If I remember correctly...

    Subject is Everything

 I'm only saying that because I know this could be better but I am a coffee nut. I cart a Gaggia Espresso and a Gaggia Classic as well as a Mini Mazzer grinder around with me. I even roast my own beans. :nevreness:

    Your Best D5100 Photos

One of the cats I am Pet Sitting for 2 months. I sent it off to the owner (the photo not the cat) and she loved it.

    Nikon's Model Numbering System

As a total newbie to Nikon and almost total to DSLR I have been learning a lot - not sure I am retaining it all just yet though :) However one thing that baffles me is Nikon's system of numbering the different models. My old brain tells me that a low number is (should be) less advance/older...

    ISO - A Flashing

Ok I know (or at least I think I do) that this flashes when the ISO I have selected will be over-ridden because of low light issues. My question is do I want this on all the time? Its a bit irritating. Should I leave it as a warning and adjust my selected ISO until it stops flashing or do I...

    Tyred, tired and retired

Most certainly does transform it. Funny thing is I thought to leave them in because it "added" to the abandoned look. Heres' a view from the other side.
