    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

14th October OK peeps I am nearly back on track thanks to Scott Kelby and Laura Shoe. Scott wrote it all down and Laura has shown me how. Finally this old brain is kicking in and I am beginning to understand the first part of Lightroom. The processing etc is a whole new learning curve but...

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

13th October Well you have to suffer a little bit longer as I have still not mastered Lightroom/photoshop CC combo but my progress today has been pretty good. Still struggling to come to terms with the cataloging/filing/saving/save as systems. So you get a frog today which was one of the...

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

12th October Another day spent of LightRoom (haven't even started on PS CC yet) but I think there is a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. it will take me a while to sort things out in my confused head though. So in the interests of pressing on here is a photo for the day just to stay in...

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

11th October Oops almost forgot to post what is now yesterdays photo. I went to a lunch where I took several portrait shots but have not processed them yet as I grapple with new software. Here's one I did in PSE 11 (I thought I had posted one!) Needs processing but not bothered about it...

LightRoom Help …Again - or is that still?

Its been 3 days now and I am still battling to figure out LR. If I insert my SD card with images on the Nikon software comes up as the default downloading system but I cannot find a way to get it to download to a folder or catalog in LR. If I open LR and try to find the SD card I am unable to...

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

Pete @Blacktop my existing 365 project is in a folder entitled "Project 365/2014" which in turn is in a folder entitled "Nikon D5100 Photos" on my desktop. My first import successfully imported all the files that were in the "Project 365/2014" folder at that point (2days ago) into a "2014"...

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

9th October I am struggling to workout LightRoom imports (to the correct catalogue) so before I lose the image for this day let me download one "as shot". Boring because no processing down yet but i am worried in case I delete all the photos from yesterday and fall out of the 365 - errrr…...

    Vixens 365 Project 2014

@Vixen you get 110% from me for trying - only way to learn. I still keep doing it and not getting it quite right. It sucks and is very frustrating but knowing that it can be done keeps you going forward. One day you will look back and laugh at this.

Photoshop CC and PSE 11 To-gether

I'm in the same boat @traceyjj have taken over 8000 (mostly crap photos) in my 365 and they are not sorted other than in date format. Intend going through and expect to cull about 7995 of them. With new photos I want to tag and catalogue as they happen. Just trying to work out what is best.

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

8th October Went to a new photographic group meet tonight - novice division because I had no idea where I fit in. It was very basic stuff and I had to even correct the lecturer at one point! Certainly never learnt anything new except how many people have Canons!!!! Took some photos with...

Photoshop CC and PSE 11 To-gether

I have PSE 11 which I have been using as my default processing software but I have just bought Photoshop CC and LightRoom Can they all three work together? Is it worth keeping PSE 11? How do I link them up? I have read people process in Adobe Camera Raw, then use photoshop and finish off in...

    Online Protography class free

^^^ Likewise @Vixen - nothing spectacularly new but some stuff was good. I did learn that some of the photos he calls classics do not appeal to me. Does that mean I should take up something else? :)

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

7th October Well ordinarily I would be embarrassed with today's photo but … I drove around for an hour trying to find something really good> I'm sure it is out there but I didn't see it. In the end I spotted three horses beautifully backlit and thought that would be the shot. One dark brown...

    Nothing but black

What would cause a camera to take nothing but black photos? Yes a lens is on … Yes the lens cover is off … Yes it happens with any lens attached …. No its not my camera (thank goodness) Is this what happens when the shutter goes? My mate says it "is taking pictures but they are black". So I...

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

6th October Another horrible weather day here and I wish I could sneak this in so none of you see it. My flat mate said "You going out in this weather!" It wasn't a question it was a statement which I took to mean she thought I was nuts - turns out she was right … they always are. Anyway...

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

Thanks @Vixen Here are there more and then I think I am done for the day. First this young maiden was being pursued by these bachelors, and boy were they persistent! Eventually she flew off for some peace and quiet. And then a Tui - arguably NZ's favourite bird that besides being rather...

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

5th October An interesting day down at the farmer's market. Still have a few to process but for now here is a big bad looking dude (probably a really cuddly guy … hey ladies) and a pirate. The pirate purposely roughly processed to give that olde worlde look. He was a nice guy. He told me it...

    Lawrence's 365 for 2014

4th October It was a freezing day here with howling gales and sleet rain. So as a reward for being miserable and confined to barracks the flatmate and I decided to treat ourselves to a roast Leg of Lamb for dinner. So the first image is the Leg of Lamb from Lens of Lawrence - please laugh out...
