Dad made a very quick check on the nest this morning just before the sun came up. Not bad for 14,000 ISO. Lightroom Enhance denoise applied.

I think she's pretty healthy. :)

I was having fun watching Magpies build nests a couple of days ago. They alternated bringing in sticks and mud, and carefully placed both to form the nest. Magpie nests are pretty big, and look like a big, messy globe of sticks when completed.

In general the zooms that go from wide angle to telephoto are never going to be super sharp, and are likely to be more prone to things like chromatic aberration, lens flare, etc. That said, they are great for convenience and are way better than zoom lenses from 20-30 years ago.

What was disappointing? Not sharp? If the focus was back or front focused, then fine tuning could help. If everything was soft that is not the issue.
