Post Your Black and Whites Photos!!

I'll post a few more. Seems I'm doing a series of Sepia from my people from Vietnam. Favoring the square format that gives the pics a more old fashion look.

Post Your Black and Whites Photos!!

And a last one for today. Still Hanoi Street vendor, but busy on the cell. I kind of like the contrast of this old look photo with the phone to put a time stamp on it.

    Marcel's Daily pics 2013

This is the reason I haven't been posting too much lately. I just finished my flooring yesterday and I ache from kneeling down all afternoon. But, now after the wall repairs and painting, setting up my shop in the garage, I might have some shooting space :)

    Marcel's Daily pics 2013

March 26th Took this one just a few minutes ago in the almost darkness. Incredible what this D700 can do. 1/15th, 1.2, iso 2500 hand held. I think I might use this one for the "bokeh" challenge.

March 25th Back to work, and another piano person photo opportunity. Low light is where I love the D700 with 55 1.2, nice soft focus lens that helps the ladies. Iso 2500, 1/640 f1.4

    Marcel's Daily pics 2013

March 23rd So who had one like this too. This is a picture of the camera that took that polaroid. The polaroid was in the back for over 3 years and I thought I'd give it a try just for fun. Since 1.3 volts batteries for lightmeters are hard to find, I guessed the exposure. Line was sitting in...

    Marcel's Daily pics 2013

March 22nd. Look what I bought today from a friend. It's kind of a souvenir for me as it was my first serious camera when I got into college to study photography. This was the minimum we had to get. Those days, I was envious of people that had a 35mm, but when it came to enlargements, this...

    Marcel's Daily pics 2013

March 20th. Line my GF is going through her passed mother's things and found this manuscript written by her great grand-mother. I found the script quality amazing. I guess in those days, young students really had to learn how to write, and I'm not talking about the spelling here. I think that...

    Quiet mode for sharper pictures

OK at general demand, I did the test again with the camera on the tripod. Slower shutter speed (1/30th) same camera and manual lens. So focus is out of the equation completely: I'll let you be the judges:

    Quiet mode for sharper pictures

I did the same experiment I had done with my 7000 a few years ago. I took the same picture in normal single mode and then in quiet mode. I had read that the most apparent difference will be when shooting between 1/50th and 1/200th. I found that the quiet mode pics were indeed sharper. Seems the...

    Marcel's Daily pics 2013

March 18th On my way to work, I saw this amazing little house with a red roof and had to stop to capture it on my D600 sensor. Got to the piano and OUCH! In piano work, where alignment and regulation can make or destroy the tone, this is what I found from a previous "Tooner". An then...
