    Frustrated in a way

I agree - probably its biggest weakness but ... Not as bad as I first thought. This was quite a high ISO if I remember correctly ISO 12800 f 5.0 1/250

    Frustrated in a way

Bear with me for a while ... I love my D7100 but for some time now I have felt I am not producing photos as sharp as I would like them to be. I recently had the pleasure of handling a D500 and my head has been in a spin ever since. But I cannot afford one at this stage - or rather don't think...

    Food shots

Me too @RON but I got a bit tired of young models with the typical model pout and am looking for 'real' women to photograph who will engage with the camera and take direction. This food photo was one of three for the club competition and this is the last for our 'camera year' - as I am coming...

My portrait shots went up a notch today

I did a corporate headshot for a lady Real Estate friend of mine last Friday. The color ones are good but I really like this mono version. She doesn't look 61 to me.

My portrait shots went up a notch today

I haven't shared this one with you yet. A naturally pretty lass who has become a good friend - funny how sometimes you just click with someone from the get go.

    ISO 2000 in the D7100

Fooling around in the lounge yesterday and decided to test the ISO on the d7100 - well not a full blown test as in 20 different shots. Just 1 in fact at ISO 2000 This is after removing noise in LR, no ther adjustments at all. Pretty impressive. Don Kuykendall ran a whole lot of tests on the...

My portrait shots went up a notch today

I have just noticed that my focus is not spot-on. I think it is me and not the lens. If I remember correctly I was using 9 focus points instead of 1 and I think this may have caused the problem. A closer look reveals that the hat brim is in focus while the eyes are slightly soft. I don't think...

My portrait shots went up a notch today

My portrait shots went up a notch today

Definitely too picky - this old fart is not going hiking with a reflector when there is a pretty girl about. :) I can only describe Arlen as "pretty" - she is so photogenic.

While waiting for this joint to be passed around I processed a few more just for @RON who, like me, doesn't seem to tire of pretty ladies.
