    "Color Correction" option-Nations Photo

Has anyone had prints developed using this option? I sent out a shot for enlargement and was not sure if I should have had it color corrected by them (I did not). Still waiting for it to arrive, should have posed this question sooner, but good to know for future work. Thanks!

Crackle Glass HDR vs. Single Expsosure

Your thoughts on the shots below? one is a single exposure and one is a 3 shot HDR merge. Which do you feel is better? Now that I see them together, the differences are very subtle.

    Weekly Challenge June 8-15: Flowers...with a Twist

My submission, the black mulch in the flower bed made a nice dark background.

    Hanging Basket

I loved the colors of these flowers but could not get around the basket, so I left it in for perspective. May have lost some detail since I was not in raw mode. The vignetting added mostly to minimize the basket. I was struggleing with a slight breeze so I don't think it's as sharp as it could...

    Carrying case for D7000

I have the case below by promaster, was about $20. Comes in different sizes (small fits my D3100 and 55-200). Very accessible and easy on/off. It is semi-ridgid for light protection and has a belt loop on the back if you don't want to use with your cameras strap. It's always on my camera when...

    Weekly Challenge May 18-25: Heritage

Here's the History of how my love for Photography "Developed". The Story- My father was an "amateur" photographer most of his life. He loved the art and spent all of his free time persueing this passion. As a child, wherever we lived, he somehow constructed a darkroom and what he couldn't...

    Train Picture

I took this shot this morning and would like some feedback. A couple notes, I was on the wrong side of the tracks in a lighting sense. I added the vignetting due to the drab sky and surroundings. I also noticed I should have gone higher than f5.6. Question- The train was moving about 10-20...

    My son and his toys

We went for a walk yesterday and came across this Bulldozer. Due to the way it was parked and lack of an ultra-wide, I could not get in front enough to capture the entire blade.

    Oakwood Cemetery HDR

Here's an HDR from 3 shots, 18mm, tripod mounted (can't handhold with D3100). Experimenting with the Photomatix trial before I buy. Due to the lighting at the time, the best composition seemed to be head on which is not how I usually like to shoot. Let me know what you think, it's amazing how...

    Lightroom 3 Question

Is it possible to isolate a colored subject and make the rest of the image B&W? The D3100 does not have that option when taking a shot. Thanks!

First shots with Nikon 35mm 1.8

Finally got a chance to use this lens. No PP except for cropping, although the D3100 was set to Vibrant. Took about 50 shots, here's a few of the better ones, rest in my galleryes:

    D5100 HDR mode

Apparently the HDR mode is only 2 shots merged, one over and one under exposed. Seems like they did this half-way, I would have upgraded from the D3100 if it was at least a 3 shot capture.

    Any SB400 User opinions?

I'm thinking of picking up a SB400 prior to going on vacation. I really like the SB700, but with travel plans it makes sense to get the 400 first. Any issues with the 400? Thanks, Rick
