Red Necked Grebe is starting to show more spring color. They will be leaving for Canada soon.

He let me walk around under him and get some better shots before he took off down the river.

While I was at the river looking for ducks this Red Tail Hawk landed in the tree right above me. He was either looking for a sea gull dinner or was drawn by my shiny head.....

After a couple warm days the river is open again. The bridge on the right is Wrightsville Bridge and the one on the left is Wrights Ferry Bridge. It is about a mile across the river here. The white dots are Gulls.

There were some Cedar Waxwings in the neighbors tree, hopefully a harbinger of spring. But it was 30 this morning 15 degrees below normal. :mad:

Look close on the right side of the lake and you can see the guys ice fishing..

About the only thing on the lake these days.....

Got this shot down by the river. It is not the best shot but I like the symbolism of the Eagle and the Helo.

Still flying out of the Army Reserve Base. Might become scarce if the budget cut go through.

Got this shot of a Horned Lark out the window of the car on the way to the office this morning. With the sun shining on the snow it was not a great shot.

Doing a little off lake hill climb....

One of the last holdouts on the lake.

Not a lot of people parking on this lot. That's about 6 inches of solid pack snow and ice. In fact you can walk on top of it. Many of the recreational areas around are actually closed. This one is open but you have to walk in. Not an easy walk.

A few birds on the little open water. This time of year there would normally be hundreds of waterbirds on here. As you see the rest is totally frozen.

Any bare ground is better than snow. The creek flows into the lake here and the warmer water and southern exposure has melted off a small area and the hill side.

For those who do not live in farm country this is what we like to call "Country Air" being spread.....
