After reading up on the new Tamron, I'm wondering if Nikon will come out with a new 24-70 2.8 with the new VR the 70-200 f4 has.

To compare, same falls last fall, I was able to hop on rocks to get right in front of it. Slight diffence in flow :)

Last set of test shots, Both 100% crops from originals to show focus detail, handheld at f4 Stop sign at 200mm House number at 70mm

The brick wall test, f5.6, handheld, all corners sharp at 200mm. Should have used a tripod and the direct light did wash it out a bit, again, no post on any of these test shots. A couple inside shots at f5.6 Indoor, low light shots. Both ISO 1250, f4, handheld 1/20th second! First is...

I thought I'd start a thread to post shots and discuss this new lens. A few test shots at f4 to start off with, these are all a shot raw, no post processing at all.

In considering the various 70-200 zooms, I really want great out of focus backgrounds, so the natural conclusion is an f2.8. The Nikon 70-200 f4 came along with it's nice compact size and excellent reviews which of course, has me thinking. Can I live with f4 and how much is the difference...
