    Pets/"Petography" Thread!

Jersey was in a running mood. I had to crop these quite a bit. I was not expecting her to be a routy. I just had the 24-70 f4 S lens on the Z. We have a bit of Jekyll and Hyde. On the up side I did this on High continuous and was pleased with the focus especially when you consider that she is...

    Geotagging on D7200

@ride4now, Here is an example of how Snap Bridge Geo-tags photos using the cell phone. I have the app running in the back ground on the phone and on the camera linked using only the Bluetooth. The Wi-Fi is inactive. The Phone shares the GPS data from the phone GPS, (I have mine on medium)...

    Geotagging on D7200

@ride4now Things have changed a bit with Snap Bridge. The D7200 does not have it. I am not sure if the D7500 has it our not. I do know that the Z6 and D850 do, and it is much better than any of the previous communication programs that Nikon developed. The most recent releases are much...

    Ricci Talks test - Z 85mm VS 105mm F1.4 VS 70-200mm F2.8. The F-mount fight back ??

Ricci, is a Nikon employee that periodically does simply direct comparisons of lenes and cameras. Lately his focus has been the Z Series bodies and Lenses. This latest test was kind of interesting. The intent was to help owners that might have different F Mount lenses to help them decide...

A friend of mine sent me a link to the Journal of Wildlife Photography. I am not really familiar with this group at all. Reading the site background it sounds pretty interesting. but I thought I would post it here just to see if anyone here was familiar with the site and get some opinions...

    Post Your Z6 Photos

@PhilM_TX is the explanation from David Busch's "Nikon Z6 Digital Photography". It is from chapter 7, page 213. I think it gives a great explanation on how the VR works with adapted F mount lenses. "What happens to vibration reduction when you use an F-mount lens with the Z6 using the FTZ...

    Post Your Z6 Photos

Put the 200-500 on the Z6 and went for a walk with Jersey. Got a shot at a Cardinal Far a way. I just wanted to see how it would do... I had to crop a bit, but I was pretty happy with the hand held.

Weekly Challenge Aug. 28 - Sep. 3: Neglected

Former Snake building... Now Racoon and Snake building... momma and 3 babies... Either way Pat will not go down there AT all and I am not to go down there either. She is deathly scared of snakes and I have already had a bought with a rabid racoon a few years ago... (The main reason I do not...

Bought a hoodeye for the Z6. I liked the one I have on the D7200 and it does help shade the viewfinder in the bright sun.

Big Change in Snapbridge - It Will Import RAW Files Now

With my Z6 I often use my phone or tablet as back up since it only has one card slot. This works pretty seamlessly and if I get a shot I want to share on Instagram or Facebook it is pretty easy to do. I know that the program really did not work well in the beginning but recent updates have...

    Carrying a 200-500mm or similar

I use a Cotton Carrier System, like @nikonpup recommended, when I have my 200-500 or even my 70-200 for a extended period of time. It is well balanced and leaves me with two hands free to walk and nothing bounces around. I do walk with a cane. I have tried about all carrying methods and this...

Working Guy Reviews and Best Practices for the Z6

There is a guy on YouTube that has been using the Z6 since last year exclusively in his wedding photography business. His page is called "The Monochrome Memoirs" and the link is below. I would liken him to a Steve Perry with less polish, (he is jut getting started with youtube). He is a...
