I am thinking that the 5100 addition is a bit too much for my collection, Brand new,, did about 40 test shots,, to confirm its an AOK camera. nice features, and would make someone a nice primary or backup camera. I am thinking 450 dollars, I'll most likely ebay it,, but maybe a Nikonite would...

Darn,, look at those dark bands at the merge point, focus misses some. Good topic,, got so many misses, that it would fill volumes and volumes. and in some ways even the keepers all have degrees of Almost. very few of my photos do not have at least some element of almost.....

I typically only do short bursts,, maybe 3-5 shots, even in RAW,, about the only time I go up to 7 is when I am doing extreme bracketing,,, Even when I shoot ultimate Frisby it is in short bursts, the 7000 is an awesome upgrade from 3100, its the perfect bridge camera to the higher end...

I own the Nikon lens,, yup,, a Tank !!! I have taken sharp pictures form 80-200,,,, np ultra sharp, Never had any issues with lack of VR,, let me find a shot... Of course this is reduced to 340K,, but a fun shot... I am sure the Sigma is a nice lens, will it be built like the Tank that...

the current price of the D7000 is at an all time low of 896,, but.... guess what, all sold out! at Amazon at least. I suspect that 896 is about as cheap but, who knows when the 7200 comes out,, its a great great camera for 896 dollars.

Just hand held, the 80-400 is such a blast to use. Not a perfect shot, but the lens allows one to capture shots outside the range of lots of a shot.
