Hungry bird.

A friend recently switched from Nikon to Fuji and had batteries that worked with my Df. I was lucky as I got 2 batteries for 20$ and he gave me a wired shutter release that works both with my Df and D7200. I was just trying it on the Df and thought of doing a selfie without too much fuss.

Today is the French national holiday.

We had a deer and it's fawn come right next door last night. It was dark and I just couldn't go outside without scaring them off. So I shot through my office window. the exif will tell you how dark it was. the original files were dark, very dark as I preferred to keep a somewhat reasonable...

Northern flicker from the backyard.

Daily pic at the end of my cycling ride (26 km round trip). I only take my fuji X-E2 with a 23mm lens in my bike handle bag. Much lighter. Anyway, when I got to the point where I turn around, the clouds were just too nice and had to be captured.

12mm extension tube on the famous 28-85 $50 plastic Nikkor lens. I like the mood this has produced for me.

Oriole from the backyard. 200-500 + 1.4 TC, cropped almost to 100%. There was just no way to get closer without scaring the bird away...

I'll second @pforsell and say that lens sharpness is way over rated when looking at travel pictures. Even the sharpest bad picture will be a bad picture. Light, composition, proper exposure and timing, choice of subject are way more important than the actual lens sharpness. But I can understand...

I would have to guess that sometimes luck strikes. As Line and I were going outside to cool off a bit, a family or racoons were walking by. The young ones got up the trees and the mom watched. By the time I came back with my camera, the mom was gone but one young one was still up in the pine tree.
