The next Big Step has been taken!

Earlier this year, I tasked myself to scan in all the old family photos in my possession. Last month, I accomplished that task. However, that was just the first of three steps. Step two was to caption each image with data about the image, as well as copying any notations that were on the...

Dredging up some old images in the archives, and found this I took over a year ago. Thought it would make a nice B&W conversion.

....... that was fun to take a camera in to! Old (built in 1917) 18-unit apartment building that's getting a make-over. Boiler room is down in the bowels of the earth..... the ceiling is at grade level.

    Photos from this afternoon's Walk-About

But first, the back-story: I went to the local camera store this morning to order some enlargements. As always, I checked their used gear offerings. I found me a nice pair of Tamron teleconverters.... a 1.4x and a 2.0x. I already have a Nikon 1.7x, but it only works with one of my lenses. I...

First in 2009, Again in 2011, and Once More This Month

I normally don't do portraiture, but I've been adopted by the neighbor and their grandkids as their 'family photographer'. In 2009, I got wrangled into a photoshoot with them. I ended up with this: We repeated the idea in 2011: Then, just a couple weeks ago, we 'did it again!':

    Do you name your gear?

Do you give names names to your gear? For instance, is your camera a D60 or is it George or Margaret? I know some people refer to their Tamrons and Sigmas as Tammy and Siggy. How about nicknames, like I refer to my 2000mm as Little Hubble.
