    Thanks for the comments! June 13th 164/365 "Sunset Stars" I'm always amazed at what the camera sees that our eyes don't. I wanted to get some star trails but with a little bit of sunset glow left. Unfortunately, I somehow screwed up the interval setting and got only 8 pics in 1 hour. So...

    I took 90 shots (varied background and lighting) and got 45 that I really liked . . . lots of interesting shapes and variations like the one below. Only the first 5 were out of focus, which really delighted me . . . it did take me aver an hour to get everything set up.

    Handheld, no tripod, and yes, from the balcony. Thanks for the comment, Ken. More than the D2X, it was the 24 mm lens at f/1.4 that really cut back on the noise. The lens and camera combination affects noise as well as the camera settings. This is just incredible glass, and yes, I rented it...
