Just received the Cuff I ordered (I love Amazon), and bingo! the oval split ring is inside, together with a black plastic sleeve that’s so cute and a special little tool to help you to help you install the split ring. So, Peak still have a supplier they trust for those rings! Sorry for the ugly...

You know, there could be something there... but then, they still supply at least one with each Cuff, I think... I have ordered another Cuff to verify that. If a split ring is inside the box, it will confirm they have no sturdiness issue. I am also talking to the Customer Service, trying to urge...

I know about those split rings, you can buy them by the hundreds for almost nothing on Amazon, but depending on any one of those to hang 2,000 dollars worth of camera and 3,000 worth of lens always sounded a bit risky to me...! Getting the ones from Peak would at least come with a guarantee...
