9/6/2013 Ok, I guess that thing is called the lens mount bayonet. I ever so gently took out a whole bunch of screws, removed the middle plastic ring leaving the electrical contacts hanging on a ribbon and ever so gently pulled off the bayonet to find a little tiny itty bitty almost microscopic...

Thanks! No idea what photomatix is capable of yet, I could probably darken it in LR though, huh? I am headed back out to that spot tomorrow to perhaps get a little closer without falling in the water. There's a bed spring, some pipes, a boot, weeds, etc... I found some writings on the wall...

Well, I can't quite use this for tomorrow photo, as it seems to be today still. However, after hundreds of failures, I think I may have got this whole star thing figured out... Now I just need a wider lens with a larger aperture, I do believe. It's quite big up there! 17mm f/2.8 ISO-3200 20 sec.

8/29/2013 Ha! My wife is off teaching a karate class! The computer is all mine. MINE I SAY!! However, emails ensue from the daughter off at college who is 99% sure she was pick pocketed and they took her phone. So I had to go dig out the box labeled, "Old Ancient Phones For the Daughter...

That thing was about 3 inches or so. I have no clue what kind of spider that is. I'm only used to the wolf spiders getting that big around here. Here's the uncropped version. That spider in the lower left are the big giant spiders you usually see around here. ('cept old wolf spiders)

8/24/2013 Well... My wife is back at school now, stealing my computer all the time. Guess I'll post photos as I can. Here's a spider I almost walked right into. I would've screamed like a little girl if I did. Not because of the spider, but because I hate walking into spider webs.

8/23/2013 Everyone can breath a sigh of relief now. This is the end of my boring photo series. All I have to do is vacuum the little bit of dirt up, and it's all done! Back to my regularly scheduled maintenance.
