Dawg Pic's, "Get off the couch" Part Deux

I am sorry to hear that... Well, it is good that you manage to motivate yourself. Taking pictures and being able to show them to online friends for them to enjoy is precious.

As I had deployed the studio strobes and all for the “Containers” theme photo, I snapped those two portraits of cameras, both with the Z MC 105mm macro lens and both focus-stacked: coincidentally, 21 photos both for the F2 and the F4S.

Post Your Black and Whites Photos!!

I know this is quite a puzzling sight to behold at first... It is an “outside, looking in” view of a half-ruined tower in the Benedictine abbey of Charroux in France. That’s another one about which I could tell you a long and fascinating story... oh, all right, I won’t. ;) (Phew!) Anyway, I...

    Post your latest purchases.

Absolutely, it does, and I bet it would work just fine as such a collar! Considering its price, I wouldn’t try it, though, knowing what dogs do to those collars (I grew up with Weimaraners, my father used to breed them for a pastime)... :giggle:

    Post your Cemetery Shots!

Still in the Loyasse cemetery in Lyons. It is interesting to see how sensuality, not to say sexiness, managed to find its way into funerary statuary, even during prudish Victorian times. This leg-showing angel is a good example of that. Nikon D810, Nikkor 35mm, ƒ/1.4 G lens. Handheld, natural...

    Post your church shots

In the abbey church of Tournus in Burgundy, an amazing “monster” capital. Early Romanesque sculptors used those to instill fear of sin into parishioners. I'm sure this one worked just fine —heck, it scared me as I was shooting it! :giggle: Nikon Z7, Nikkor Z 50mm, ƒ/1.8 S lens. Gitzo tripod...

    Post your macro photos here

A 4:1 (roughly) shot of: on the left, a French Legion of Honor rosette (the highest French decoration), meant to go on the lapel; and on the right, a cornflower pin that is the French equivalent of the Anglo-Saxon poppy: a sign of commemoration for the soldiers who died during World War I. To...

Post Your Tabletop photography, pack shot and still life

I know this is not a very exciting shot, but I meant to upload it to demonstrate what I hope is a good example of technical product photography. There is no glamour there, you simply need to show an industrial tool and what customers need to know about it —which does not mean you cannot try and...

Post Your Black and Whites Photos!!

The crypt under the abbey church of Tournus: built during the late 900s, virtually untouched since then... :geek: Nikon Z7, Nikkor 19mm, ƒ/4 PC-E tilt-shift lens, manual focus, FTZ II adapter. Gitzo tripod, Benro geared head.

Nope, not the Grand Canyon, but the valley of the Ardèche River in central/southern France, circa 2010... Nikon D700, Nikkor 24mm, ƒ/3.5 D lens, manual focus. Handheld.

Nice photo and church! Too bad they saw fit to “modernize” the windows in subsequent centuries...

    September Monthly Assignment: Container(s)

This is my attempt at “Containers”... and since you know by now that I like to tell stories, well I’ll tell you about the things I have assembled for this photo. The yellow box on the left is, I think, what is called repoussé, or “embossed” metal, and it’s got to be brass, judging by the color...
