I went for a walk with the 70-300VR on the D7100 hoping to see a bird or 2, I think the heat is keeping them away hiding in the bush. I did see a couple of Kangaroos making the most of the shade under my mango trees. A female having a feed of mango. The Buck wasn't too far away.

We are having a bit of a heatwave here at the moment. The insects won't cooperate, and I was off as well, this is the only insect shot I could salvage from my walkaround this afternoon.

Well I have decided to continue with this "Plod" thread for 2014, as I don't expect to contribute daily again this year. So here is my 1st "Plod" pic for the year. "Feather on the Forest Floor"

Well I deleted all but 3 of mine I took today, this is probably the best of the bunch. :calm: A little Barra Frog trying to stay cool in the oppressive heat we have here at the moment.

I use the 105VR for insects and spiders, I am happy with how mine performs. To get the best out of it will take a bit of refining your technique (same with any lens). There are some good threads on here that will help you with learning how to use flash and a diffuser to help get enough light on...

The March Flies are plentiful here at the moment, for a couple of weeks every December they are very hungry. ​Anyone who has been bitten by one, knows that proboscis hurts when it sinks into your skin.:mad:

Re: spiders I spotted this youngun on this red leafed plant this afternoon, only got 3 shots before it sprung off into the distance, the other 2 shots I missed the focus, so this is it I'm afraid. :)
