Just a few shots I took yesterday of the Okanagan Lake In Kelowna, B.C.

During a break in aerial photography yesterday, I decided to grab my D300 and shoot what was available around me. This is what I came up with.

These are a couple of shots I took today of a "fuel farm" being built just outside of town. Taken using an octocopter with a D800 slung underneath, and a 17-35 2.8 lens from about 600 feet up.

This is a motorcycle stunt team in Calgary. They do shows all over Canada and the western U.S. They invited me up to take a few shots while they were practicing.

I was out testing some octocopter equipment with my buddy this afternoon and got in a surprise photo shoot of some motorcycle stunt guys. I took 235 shots and saved 80 of them. The rest of them were mostly repetitious shots.

Say hi to my "model" Horsey. :) He never argues, and always stays where I put him. :) Now...onto this post. I used one flash (SB-700 Speedlight) for this shot....behind the model! How did I get this result? :) Figure it out and let me know what you come up with. :)

These were taken last year at an antique car show in Kelowna, British Columbia. I had forgotten about them till I discovered them on one of my memory cards. I thought I'd pop a few on here for the car buffs in the crowd. :)

I thought this was really cool. It sits in front of a new building in downtown Calgary, called the Bow Tower. I left some people in the shot to show a sense of scale. It's huge!

Tell me what you guys think of this. Shot with the D40 on a spur of the moment thing.

I haven't spent as much time as I would normally in here lately, as I've been busy working on an old compressor I just came into possession of. This thing is from the early 50's! :) I've taken everything apart and have been cleaning and inspecting all the components in order to get it running as...

Since it's +1C and snowing outside, I was getting bored, so I looked for something to do. A buddy of mine had given me an old microphone stand, and it gave me an idea. I converted it to be my new 5-in-1 reflector stand/holder. :) Here's a few shots to show you what I mean:

Got myself a new Lowepro bag the other day. Picked up a sweet deal on Kijiji. The kid who sold it to me has more money than brains! lol He was selling a never used Lowepro Pro Messenger 180AW ($180 Cdn) for $50. I couldn't pass it up! The funny thing is, he had it advertized as a 160AW model...
