My favorite prime. I have the pre-AI "O" version, the AI-s, and AF-D versions.

Yes. I have and use the second edition of this lens. Build quality is on par or better than any Nikon too.

It is by far, the best of the 70-300 lenses. Even sharp at the long end, which none of the previous versions are.

Now that we have had it and using it for awhile, what is the popular consensus on it? Big upgrade from the D780? Regrettably, I have yet to use the Live View screen or mirrorless option. :( Thanks

My apologies for submitting a Smugmug set. But it's the only place where I have the entire set together at the moment. Most of the "stills" were shot on Neopan 400 B/W film (F100, 28-105 glass), while the action/arena snaps were shot with the Nikon D780...
