No. F mount 24-120 f/4 VR glass. On the first balloon and helicopter rides, I brought the 70-200 glass too, but never used it. The 24-120 easily covers all of it. However, I did use the 20mm prime for a few snaps in the helicopters.
I know, I am very late to the discussion. But for future inquiries about balloon ride shooting, I have found that after quite a few balloon rides, that my 24-120 (full frame) glass is all that is needed.
Keep in mind that the IKEA Ladda batteries are Eneloop Pro's, just relabled. And they are 1/3 the price of the Eneloop Pro's. 2450mAh, and $9.99 per set of four.
Actually, the Kiron 70-150 version came out before the Nikon E version. It is also smaller, lighter, and better built than the Nikon E 75-150. Kiron made the Nikon version, per Nikon specs. BOTH lenses deliver very good results.
I have found that there are always people that seek knowledge or opinions from older threads that they did not see or have interest in from the past. Knowledge is timeless.
