Ballhead Knobs Fix..... a trick I just tried.

If you have round knobs on your ballhead, they're generally small and can be a pain to tighten. Well, in anticipation of my new tripod, I decided to do something about that problem. One of the knurreled rubber wraps came off one of the knobs and I epoxied it back on. Just to be sure everything...

    Ordered a new tripod.

The last time I was out with my D800/80-200 combo, I wasn't real confident in the stability of my current tripod. The main reason was because I had to extend the center pole to reach eye-level. This resulted in a little wobble. Didn't like it. I decided to get a new tripod that was taller so...

    D5100 with Tokina 12-24mm f/4 Lens Photos

Nikon 80-200/2.8........ non VR. Whadda lens.

This is from my $600 Nikon 80-200/2.8 (@ 5.6) and D800. This lens was intended for a tripod and the VR feature is not a requirement in my case. Frankly, it is just too heavy to hand hold for any length of time. And, the price difference compared to the 70-200VR isn't small change. This is a...
