    Monopod worked out pretty well.

I did a walking tour of our local arboretum yesterday. While I was on my way there, I realized I had forgotten my tripod. Normally, that's not much of a problem, but I was intending to shoot 7-frame bracketed photos. I decided not to go back for the tripod when I remembered that I had my...

Inexpensive Nikon Film Lenses.... great value, good performance.

First is the 35-80 1:4-5.6D Next, the Street Sweeper 24-120mm 1:3.5-5.6D There is no post-processing zooming. The only cropping was the cutoff from Picasa's collage program.

I lost IMAGE from the toolbar on Corel Paintshop Pro X5

It was there, and then it was gone. I use the border function and the re-size function. Now, I can't. Anyone have an idea as to what happened? I'd like to get it back. I rebooted, to no avail.

Do you use a wrist strap?

I just read the sad tale of a D300 falling in to a bucket of water. It made me shutter (note the camera lingo). Whenever my camera is off the tripod, I have the wrist strap engaged to insure it doesn't hit the ground if I should lose my grip. I believe it's some good insurance.

The River of Grass..... commonly called the Everglades. Yesterday's trip.

Fishin' Everglades Style.... The River of Grass... Stealth in the Grass... And to the West, as far as the eye can see... Besides the bird, there are gators in there... somewhere.

Stuff you just don't pass up. If I didn't have a camera with me, I would have gone home to get one.

I Bought 4 Used Lenses for My D700. Here's the first report.

I bought my D700 in a private sale and I am extremely pleased with the condition of the camera and its performance. I also bought an excellent condition prime 35mm 1:2 Japanese lens from the seller for $150. From what I researched, I got a pretty good deal. As I researched, I came across many...

I picked up a new piece of equipment to improve my photography output.

With all the time I sit in front of the screen, I figured it was time for a little comfort in the form of a new chair. I didn't realize how uncomfortable my old chair really was... until I sat in the new chair. I told the old chair to "hit the road" as I threw it in the trash. Hmmmmm.... my...

EXPERT OPINIONS ONLY! (ONLY KIDDING) Please pick one.

OK. Experts are not necessary. If that was the case, I'd never have an opinion. Please review the photos below. Both were taken with a D700. They were merged with Photomatix in the "natural", and then collaged with Picasa. They both received the exact same processing, since they were...

Nothing fancy. Just looking for some bright colors. Photos have minimal post-processing. I'm a happy camper.

I've been pulling my hair out, and that's pretty difficult, since I shave my head.

I want an FX camera. I mean I really want an FX camera. I sold one of my other toys, and I have $1500 to spend. Hmmmmmm..... the plot thickens. My choices are D600, D700, and a D800. I can't afford a new D600, and there aren't any used ones yet. I can't afford a used D800, as the price...

What is the Size of Your Monitor?

I use a the 15.6" screen of my laptop for all of my processing. I am thinking about getting an additional 22-24" external monitor. Do you think a larger monitor will make processing more accurate or easier? Thanks.

Opinions on the Nikon Nikkor AF-S 18-200mm F/3.5-5.6 VR DX ED G Lens

It appears that this lens would replace both 18-55 and 55-200 lens that I now have. Is anybody using this lens and how do you like it? Thanks in advance.
