Anyone else a Coffee Freak? Good espresso? I heard coffee is endangered.

I heard that coffee growing, and coffee in general, will be come more scarce and expensive in the near future. I am an espresso addict and I would really miss good coffee, either by it not being available, or priced out of range. The article reported that coffee will become more like fine...

DXO Optics....... what does it do?

What is the attraction to DXO Optics? What does it do better than Photoshop or Lightroom? I have access to the program, but haven't discovered it's benefits over other programs.

Nikon Factory Authorized Service in Florida

I made the mistake of using canned air to spray on to my sensor filter. Did I say 'mistake'? Change that to big mistake. The can's contents were low and it spit some kind of liquid on to the filter. After that, my sensor looked spotted. That drove me nuts. Stupid error on my part and I...

    Thank you Veterans

THE FINAL INSPECTION The Soldier stood and faced God, which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining, just as brightly as his brass. 'Step forward now, Soldier, how shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?' The soldier...

Replacing the Head on a ProMaster 7100 ???

I think I'd prefer a ballhead for my 7100. Has anyone ever removed the existing head on a ProMaster 7100? Or, any other tripod head? Thanks.

This Post is for Those Wondering if HDR is Worth the Effort

I have been reworking some old photos that I won't be able to take again. Here's an example of a shot that was really poor to begin with, and how the HDR process can make some improvements. HDR is definitely worth the effort.

Is it better to convert color to B&W, or take B&W from the start?

Is there any benefit to setting the camera for B&W?

    For D40, D40X, or D60 Owners........

There is no lens hood or clear back cover. The rubber armor is like new. It's FREE, but I'd appreciate $5 for Priority Mail (Which actually costs $5.25). PM me if you want it.

Picked up a new lens today. 50mm 1.8, but.........

.....it's one of the rarer Made in Japan models. I found it on Craigslist and the guy wanted $110. I offered $70 and he accepted. We met locally, I tried out the lens, and I bought it. Everything I've read says the Japanese models aren't very easy to find. I don't know if they're any better...

    TedG's Flowers 'n Stuff Pictures

I decided that since I can't find tanks and jet fighters every day, I might as well shoot what's available. Flowers and stuff. Well, here's the start. All photos in this series were shot with the D700 and the 2.8 60mm Nikkor (old model, not the current lens).

My D700 has finally impressed me.....

The quality of photos coming out of my D700 is higher than I can recognize, or appreciate. Compared to my D5100, I haven't really been impressed when I consider the costs. Well, out of the blue, I'm finally impressed. I don't usually check the camera data of the photos I take, but today, I...
