    Bits & Pieces...

I was bored, sitting at my computer desk, looking around....spotted all my photography paraphernalia and thought, hey...I'll shoot that stuff. So here's my stuff......most of it anyways. :) The reason is because it was -34C at the time, and I am NOT going outside to take pictures in this...

    DIY Light and stand

It's a nice natural daylight type, Marcel. I'll take a picture of something tonight and post it up to show you what kind of output I get from it, and what effect it has on the photo. Before and after shots ...with light and without. I can clearly see the difference. With: Without:

    DIY Light and stand

Rick, that's exactly the kind of light I'm using, except it's a 150 watt bulb. It's also the same clip on type fixture I use, except I took off the clip part and just adapted it to an old light stand I have. I'm thinking of getting another fixture and an 85 watt bulb to make up a two light...

    Project 365 - 2012: fotojack

I know, I'm a few days late, but better late than never. This is a shot of my back alley (not black and white) yesterday, when the temperature was 13C (about 56F). Melting ice receding from the alley. a sure sign of the coming spring, right? Well, this morning, I woke up to about 2 inches of...

    Project 365 - 2012: fotojack

Had double picture show up there. Strange. Let's try this again. This little black squirrel in my back yard was chowing down on some bread meant for the birds. He's a little thief! lol :)

    Project 365 - 2012: fotojack

OK, here's todays. Couple of fir trees that I thought looked interesting, in that they were bent out of shape. They looked wind swept, but in fact, they grow like this. It's a particular species of fir (no, I don't know the name).

My hike in the hills above Burbank, CA

Hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty of copying this shot and changing it to what I thought should have been done. Notice how I cropped it, losing most of the foreground, allowing more of the subject matter to be more prominent. To me, it's the back part of the picture that's...
