That is what I have been doing. We have a nice park here and it is full of ducks and geese. Not many sea gulls in north Texas. :) So that has been my practice scene on BIF. Getting close to but just not sharp enough. I am having a lot of fun practicing though. :)

A couple I got today.

LG G3 shot. A bird fluttered into the shop and ran into the wall. He/She seemed a bit disorientated for a bit which allowed me to get in and take a shot. He flew off a couple of minutes later.
