I was lucky enough last year to be able to tour the Guinness factory in Dublin on a work trip and got a few shots. Just ran across them again today.

Obligatory baby foot photo of my 2 week old. :) Took that one with my new 35mm f/1.8 prime lens. Already liking the lens!

So if you want more definition in your sky, you have to let less light in. On an overcast day, you still get a lot of light, so that can fool you into thinking you need to let more in. Bump the ISO down to 200, open the F-stop a bit more (maybe to around 8 or 9) and then adjust the shutter...

Re-worked the shot to reduce noise...

I took the liberty of bringing the shot into Lightroom and making some adjustments. Hope you don't mind. :) - straightened to level out eyes - cropped a bit to center her more - reduced the exposure by .15; it looked a little over-exposed - bumped the contrast by by 15 - adjusted the shadows...

She just turned 87 this week and we had a party. She suffers from advanced dementia and I felt like this photo kind of captured the world from her perspective - hazy, yet somewhat familiar.
