    Feeling a bit sad...

Sadly enough I parted ways with 2 of my cameras today, and my Profoto ring light. I sold my D90 and D3100 since they have not seen any action in several months now. However I did end up snagging up a D300 w 12.5k actuations to replace them. This is just to tide me over till my next body...

Tamron 85mm 1.8 VC... This lens is a must have.

While images probably would not do too much I'll have to say that it is an amazing lens. Having a chance to play with it at WPPI. This is definitely something you want to take a look into before you go running for Nikon's version. VC was good to me to around 1/20th sec. I'll have to go...

Had a chance to play with the D5 and D500 this week at WPPI...

While I did not take any videos (there are plenty of them floating on youtube), I will have to say that both cameras feel amazing in hand. If you have ever shot with any of the predecessors you will not be disappointed at all. Button layouts are similar and accessible. AF testing based solely...

    Case Logic Kontrast initial review.

Hello all, I wanted to give you a little insight from my initial thoughts on the Case Logic Kontrast KDB101. I was looking for a new bag to go traveling with that would allow for either a spare body and have enough space to carry multiple lenses, a laptop computer/tablet and was budget...

Just added an Sb-800 and Sb-700 to my ongoing arsenal....

Picked them up at a price I could not say no to.... They will now join my Sb-600 and Yongnuo Yn-560II in my home studio build. I should have enough lights to cover background and hair with the 4 of them. Along with that I do have 3 monolights which will also be used accordingly. Now just...

    External monitor while taking photos?

@mikew, that would probably be more focused on video or just replace the lcd screen in the back. For photos, I'm afraid you would be limited to seeing what the picture looked like after. No frets though as you can tether your camera to LR or PS to see the images almost instantaneously.

Any cyclists here? Advice on getting a bike?

@SkvLTD, the inclines may be easy if you are closer to the strip. I'm at the foot of a mountain, so the inclines are not that easy.

So tell me why I shouldn't jump to FX...

@Fortkentdad, like I stated previously to Bill, I am not worried about glass. My 70-200 F2.8, 70-210 F4, and 50mm are my go to lenses. I will be adding an 85 F1.8 just to fill in the gaps. Also several other lenses are in my possession which are geared for FX. I have minimal DX glass, which...

So tell me why I shouldn't jump to FX...

@Blacktop, there is nothing lacking from any of my cameras. However I just want to know if I am missing something, and it's really not so much about the jump to FX as it is a hesitation between a D3X vs other FX bodies... ;) For me though the upgrade is inevitable, as I do want an FX body...

So tell me why I shouldn't jump to FX...

So I recently have located and have an interest in a D3x, and I am mildly curious about making the jump to full frame, but also slightly hesitant on going with this camera. I mean putting it down on paper in comparison to today's standards ISO would be the only significant issue that I can see...

    Post your Craigslist WTF's here.

Thought this might be a good idea, and haven't found one on this site. We all probably search through CL for the greatest deal on (insert item here). We then come across those crazies that make us either cringe or give that post a funny look/thought. Well here in Las Vegas, people do not know...

Wow... I forget how nice it is to shoot with my D90.

Ever since I got my D300s, my D90 and D3100 have been garage queens. Today I took it out to play with my monolights and realize that I have a few more toys that are easily compatible with my D90 over my D300s. Both have fairly low shutter counts, but I do remember how nice it is to hold and...

Removing people - tip I found for PS

absolutely... Guess I forgot to mention that. Just to add in, here is an image in front of the Venetian (IIRC) on the Vegas strip. There were approx 30 people that passed through this image within the 13 seconds it took to capture this. This is no editing just straight jpeg out of the camera...
