    Advice on composition

I never really noticed the distortion on the columns. To be honest, since it is a forced perspective shot, it really doesn't bother me. I'm sure some may find it distracting.

    Post Your Automotive Shots!

I was quite happy with the image quality of the Z5/24-70 combo today. This first one is a little more artsy than usual for me. Looks like something the Pup might take. She wandered over the cars just a few minutes before they left. Managed to just get two shots. I would have taken more, had I...

    EVF Not Working

My Z5 has that option. I have them all checked, which allows me to select any one of them with the EVF button beside the viewfinder.

    Advice on composition

I shot some automotive pictures today. Not in my wheelhouse, but I was happy with some of the results. This one image has me scratching my head about composition. This is the image as framed in the camera with no cropping. I like the look of the columns to the right as it brings to mind...

    Post Your Automotive Shots!

The Pup and I went to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens to shoot some macro. They had a small show of Model A cars in front of the plantation house. I had my trusty 24-70 F4 lens with me, and mounted it up for a few shots.

    Getting a 'hard' look?

I think you will find that it is going to be more about post processing, than how they are shot. I have a couple pics I shot of my neighbor's grandkids, and they have somewhat of the same look. I didn't do anything special. They were shot outside, later in the afternoon, so there was no direct...

Peter, I am starting to be able to tell which images are yours, before I look at the avatar. That's not a bad thing, BTW.

Photographer that used developing chemicals as a booby-trap

Not an explosive, but the nastiest chemical I had in my darkroom was farmers reducer. potassium ferricyanide and sodium thiosulfate I also remember they used to sell antistatic brushes with a little bit of polonium on a strip.

    Post your 'ALMOST' Photos..

I was trying to photograph some kind of bee on a flower. Suddenly a yellow jacket fly in and grabbed him and flew off with him. This was all I got.

    Macro at Cypress Gardens

Well, wife is doing better and I was able to get away for a couple hours and see if I could get a few shots at Cypress. It was a reasonably warm day, so there were a few critters out and about. This is probably my favorite. I had to shoot at an awkward stance and had a hard time getting focus...

    Post your macro photos here

I was thinking that I wished I'd had a high magnification setup to get just the eye of the toad. I thought I'd just get an idea of what it would look like by severely cropping the second photo above. I was surprised at how well the image managed with rather extreme enlargement. I did run it...

    Woody's Vea La Luz 2023

Great WD photos. I was a little obsessed with getting some decent WD pics earlier this year. Around here they are normally very skiddish. There was a small group of them at one location that grew up there with a fair amount of people around. I was able to get fairly close and get some nice...
