A Day With the Dock Dogs

The Pup wanted to travel up to Conway yesterday and take pictures at the Dock Dogs competition. We got up early drove a couple hours and got there just as they were starting. We could have attended the competition they had locally last month at the SouthEast Wildlife Expo, but the crowds there...

    Lisa’s Photos

For my .02 worth, I think that for only 2 months under your belt, you are doing very well. The more you practice, the better you will get.

File size of images and videos

I can't help with all of the questions, as I don't shoot video. 3. When you shoot in RAW, you get the full raw data from the sensor, so you get the full sized image. While I suppose they could allow you to use cropped image sizes, they may have decided that anyone wanting to shoot in RAW mode...

    Interchanging Lens

All of the "D" series cameras, like D850, D7100 are DSLR bodies, and do not require an adapter to use. The newer "Z" bodies, such as the Z5, Z8 etc, will require the FTZ adapter.

    Post your seascapes

Here's another of my current favorite tree at the Boneyard beach. It's similar to others I've posted, but each one is unique with changes in the waves, sun's position, clouds, and reflections in the wet sand. This one was made from 2, 5-shot, 1 stop increment, bracketed strings edited to a...

    Clovis' Nikon Nuggets

The Pup and I went over to Cypress Gardens this morning. Didn't get much. I was excited to see a barred owl sitting peacefully in a tree very close to the trail. He stayed there quite a while. The main problem was the lighting. Very heavily backlit. I gave it an extra stop of compensation, but I...

    Peter's Pixels

Very nice, Peter. I was going to say, worth getting up early for, but in your neck of the woods, it could just as well be a sunset. Around here, there are no sunsets over the ocean. OK, had to peak at the EXIF data. Looks like a sunset, unless your camera's time is set wrong.

    Upgrade from Z5 to Z6ii

What kind of shooting do you do? If you do a lot of wildlife or sports shooting, you may want to step up to an Expeed 7 processor. I went from a Z5 to a Z7ii. I was unhappy with the AF of the Z5 for wildlife. When they deeply discounted the Z7ii, I got one last year. It has the same dual Expeed...
